I bought a car early in 2006, while I was living in Minnesota. Since then, I have paid every month on time and thought I was up to date on my loan. When the car was financed, I did it through Twin City Co-Ops Federal CU. The name changed to Spire about a year ago. Actually, I don't know when the name changed because I was never notified. In any event, I have kept my car insured the entire time I have owned it.
I went to trade my car in and the salesman said I was behind on my payment and my credit had been affected negatively. Also, there was a reposession on my credit report. I was shocked and amazed.
The next day, I called to fix the problem, was transferred to Bill Baldwin, and he treated me like a criminal. He was rude, flippant and not helpful in any way. He told me he was going to reposess my car and asked questions like "Why don't you pay your bills!?" I told him that I had been paying my car note and he should be able to see that because they have cashed my checks every month.
He was so infuriating to deal with, I had to talk to someone else. This person was very helpful, but admitted that Bill is difficult to deal with and lacks customer service skills. I have had it with Spire. They should have contacted me to let me know there was a problem. Although my car is not is a state of reposession, my credit has been affected. Sorry Spire, but you [are bad].
