While eating pickled beets from their salad bar, I bit into what looks like a rodent toenail. Officials from the state department and from the store agree it does not belong in the beets. On the day it happened, the assistant manager stated it looked like an animal toenail. The beets were packed by Sysco Manufacturing in Houston, TX. The Granary has notified their Sysco representative. I am extremely concerned of potential diseases later, due to a weakened immune system from chemotherapy. I have vomited repeatedly over this and have to fight to keep it from being foremost in my mind. I have a fear of eating from anywhere now and inspect all food items extremely carefully.
