We were promised that the headstone we purchased would be completed and mounted no later than 5/11/04, as stated on our contract. The headstone was delivered 3.5 hours after the ceremony at the cemetery was scheduled to begin on 5/16/04. The entire back of the headstone we received was patched with putty. It looked like a used stone that was "repaired" and then re-sold as an original. We have photos to verify this.

When we purchased the monument at the showroom, we selected a headstone that was polished on both sides, with a rocky finish on the top and edges. Mr. "Billy," the alleged owner of Precious Monuments, saw the headstone at the cemetery, and admitted that the headstone was of poor quality, and was unacceptable.

We were misled repeatedly regarding laying the foundation for the stone, mounting the stone at the grave plot, setting the graphics for the headstone, etc. The cemetery confirmed that Precious Monuments did not do what they allegedly tried to do. We have lost trust in this monument company, since they tried to charge us full price for a used, defective stone.

Furthermore, the picture tile that we purchased along with the headstone was not in place.

Our family rented a limousine, and we had to pay the driver for an additional 4 hours of service, while we waited for the headstone to arrive. In addition, relatives flew to New York from out of state to attend the ceremony at the cemetery.
