Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On May 9th, 2012, technicians John and Stephen arrived to troubleshoot why water was forming on the pipe leading from the air conditioning unit and why the unit was not turning on. The invoice states they sealed the return air wall, replaced Schrader valves? They tightened the liquid line flare, leak locked high and low side service valves, and charged system. Tested operation. On May 21, 2012, the same two technicians were called and came back because the unit was making a strange noise and condensation built up on the unit and the pipe leading from the unit was soaking wet again and the unit shut itself off. The technicians were unable to find out what the problem was.

May 22, 2012, at approximately 10:30am, the technicians were notified again that condensation built up on the unit and the pipe leading from the air conditioning unit was wet again. I was advised not to turn the unit off and they would be back after lunch. At 2:45pm, I did not hear from the technicians, so I called and got John on the phone in an attempt to explain that the condensation had evaporated at which time he told me there must be something else wrong with the unit and I wanted to know why they were unable to find the problem when they first came to look at it.

We got into a shouting match because during the time I was waiting for their return, I had an asthma attack due to the temperature getting warmer in the house and I had become very irritable. John was saying something over the phone to me and thought I had hung up because I didn't respond because I was blowing my nose and said to Stephen, who is supposed to be a company manager, that I was a **. I let him know I heard what he called me and then he hung up on me. As of 12:21pm May 23, 2012 my air conditioning unit it still not fixed and prior to the service call the airflow was flowing back into the return. Now, ice cold air is blowing out of it.

We installed a new geothermal heating and air conditioning system in our renovated home ($30,000). First, my husband discovered that the air handler that was installed in the attic was not brand new. We had paid for a brand new system. After we called this to their attention, they claimed the "wrong one was taken off the shelf" and installed it by accident in our home.

Then our house was broken into and one of the Geomax units was stolen. The plumbers saw the Air Conditioning Services (ACS) team leaving with the unit and as they left they said they would be back with the new unit. The police were called but since the plumbers could not identify them in a line up, the investigation did not go any further. ACS claimed that the man no longer worked for them and if he did this, it was on his time and his responsibility. ACS helped with the insurance claims and did the work for the new units but we paid for it.

Then six months later (Christmas week), the system is leaking and we called them in to check the system. They claimed that the coil cracked due to the cold and since we had the unit in an unheated area, the warranty was void and we are responsible for the replacement of the unit ($5,500). In addition, they want to charge us $135 for the visit!

If this company was responsible for providing our home with heat and air conditioning and they determined where vents were placed, etc., how could this be our fault? In addition, we have had an outside company look into this and they don't believe the coil cracked due to the cold.
