A little over a week ago, I attended a bridal expo at the Smithtown Sheraton. This past Saturday (January 23, 2010) I had received a telephone call stating I had won a prize. The company that contacted me is called ChefWorld. To claim my free 3 day two night vacation, all I had to do was sit through a "short" seminar on cooking products. I felt a little wary from the beginning, but decided to go. I am recently engaged and the thought of a free trip got my hopes up. My fianc and I attended a seminar at the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview, New York.
Upon walking into this room, I knew something was wrong. The salesman conducting the seminar was the crassest person I have ever had the displeasure of associating with. He badgered and insulted just about everyone in the room. As he began his little spiel about these pots and the dangers of other cookware, I knew it was a bogus offer. This man tried to scare everyone into the room into buying his products. His reply to the others who declined to buy was "You don't care about the health of your family." These pots and pans went for a staggering $1500.00 a set. He also claimed that they were 50% off that day just for us.
My fianc thought it may be a good idea. I did not. We had decided to leave at this point, walked over to his wife. Her name escapes me, trying to claim our prize. She gave us a really nasty attitude, had a little fit, then called Ray over to us again for a little more persuasion. This time we fell for it. I told him I would not give him one cent more than ninety-dollars that day. I also stated that I was going to research the company. Once again he gave an attitude and told me I wasn't going to find anything bad. He couldn't be any more wrong. That is when I found this website with the same complaints, but from a different company, same sales pitch and all. I got scared. I immediately canceled my order through the company and HyCite Financial Corp. The funny thing is that Royal Prestige shares the same address in Monroe, New York. Did they go under, and then re-emerge with a different name?
