Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Kathy of Coppell TX (2/18/03):
We hired housekeeping service to clean our house on a bi-weekly basis. They worked for us for several years. One of the housekeepers dropped a candle on the floor and got black soot all over carpet. Housekeeper tried to get the soot out by spraying Windex on the spots, which bleached out the carpet.

We called Jill M (owner of company) who tried to remove stains herself to no avail. She had carpet company send someone over to attempt to dye areas of carpet that were bleached out, also unsuccessfully. We had replaced carpet approximately two years prior to incident. We requested that entire room (a relatively small bedroom) be re-carpeted. Owner refused to do so, and instead wanted to patch carpet. We felt that area was too large to patch, so we refused.

We contacted carpet company to get estimate to replace carpet, and were informed that had housekeeper not sprayed Windex on carpet, warranty would have been in affect, and they would have sent someone to attempt to remove stain, but since Windex was applied and carpet was bleached, warranty was voided. We have repeatedly attempted to resolve situation with owner of company, who now refuses to take our calls, and/or accept service of our demand letter. We did however deliver demand letter to her parents' house (where she is currently residing), and left it with her father.
