Our daughter, who lives 350 miles away, sent her father a stainless steel Spacemaker coffeemaker for this past Father's Day. It has never worked correctly -- namely all of the water will not brew through the unit unless you turn it on and off several times. We know she purchased it from a Wal-Mart store. We took it back to our local Wal-Mart and were told they could not help us, that we would have to send it in the original box.

First of all, since it was a gift we do not have the original box. Also, we know our daughter will be very upset to learn her Father's Day gift is a dud. For this reason we have attempted to take care of the matter ourselves. At this point we've given up using it and would not want our daughter to know as much.

We are now making "hobo" coffee and not saying a word to our thoughtful daughter.
