Kitchen Connection

Los Angeles

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The Kitchen Connection remodeled our kitchen in July/August of 2006. We were very happy with the remodel, until September of this year. We noticed a crack in our granite counter top, around the stainless steel sink. Over the next two months, the crack grew and grew. We talked to a granite specialist in our area, and he said there was no way to repair it. So I called Kitchen Connection, and told them the problem. After several calls, I received a return call from "Chuck" in customer service, and he told me our warranty was expired, but he would be happy to send someone out to give us an estimate for a new counter top!

We hired a new company and had to replace every counter in our kitchen with a new company. The original granite installed by Kitchen Connection was improperly installed, noted by rust around the reinforcing bar around the stainless steel sink. We also noticed cracks beginning around the hole for the soap dispenser. This was very disappointing, considering now Kitchen Connection advertises, "complete peace of mind guaranteed." Granite installation should last more than four years.

Beware of The Kitchen Connection. The wood used for many cabinets was infected with powder post beetles. The Kitchen Connection denied this infestation yet two (2) exterminators verified that the wood used was infected. The Kitchen Connection denied this fact and claimed the powder post beetles were already in my house. I only found the sawdust in the drawers of my "new" kitchen cabinets and nowhere else. Plus the house had just been fumigated less than 3 months earlier.

Physical damage was a sawdust like substance found in the drawers within a couple of months after installation I had to have the cabinets treated twice at a cost of several hundred dollars.

Requested a quote from Kitchen Connection for kitchen Cabinets. the saleman provided a quote for $25K then hrs later dropped to $15K pushing the sale, then dropped to $13K. he requested a $500 deposit and mentioned that all work is guaranteed. I mentioned to the saleman what if i need to cancel. he said oh no problem we will not deposit the check till the work begins,

well they deposit my $500 check days later and when i called them to cancel the job they refused to refund the deposit. No work had been performed and now they will not return the deposit becuase i did not cancel in the 3 days they requested.

when i called to complain the sales Manager dennis Rax said well thats our company policy and the only way you may get the deposit back is if you place a new order with a $2K minimum and the deposit will be applied to that job, other then that you lose your deposit. I asked him over and over what did you do with my deposit how are out out and this if nothing has been done, he said sorry is buisness.

This was in Feb 09 and as of today Oct 1st i still have not seen my deposit. i have contacted BBB for assistance. then after looking them up i seen they have over 31 complaints already. i guess i should have done my homework with the people,

On June 12, 2009 my husband and I met with Howie from The Kitchen Connection. We were intrested in remodeling our kitchen. Howie told us that in his opinion all we needed was to reface the cabinets. We liked the savings and decided to sign a contract and gave him a check for $700. He told us that if should change our minds we had three days to cancel.Well the next day on June 13, 2009 I did just that. We decided to go with another company and spend more money but get custom cabinets. I called The Kitchen Connection and left a message letting them know that I was cancelling with them. I also sent an e-mail stating the same thing. On Monday June 15, 2009 I called again and was told that my check had been cashed but the leave a message with the owner and they would take care of it. Today is August 6, 2009 and I have yet to receive my refund.
