On 12/23/2009 a technician from Mechanical Heating & Cooling came to my house for a furnace cleaning. My furnace was working but it was coming on for 30 seconds then shuting off maybe a couple times a day during cycle but it would always come back on i told the technician that.
He took 3 out of four of my burners out and ran water on them put them back in. Took out a mirror and looked up exchanger cells and said 1 has soot in it and needed cleaning and said it probably was causing my problem that occured after he cleaned the burner; the flame one the 1st burner was not going all the way to the end of the burner so he asked did i want him to clean it to cure that problem i said yes.
He took out a long flexible brush ran it up the exchanger cell an vacuumed it out an turned the switch back on an furnace wouldn't come on. he tried several things but no success. He said this is wierd so he called a coworker who came out an took out a part called an orphus that i later found out was left out, after trying again with no success they told me i needed a pilot and it would cost $243 to fix which i thought was too much. after my my heat was working before he got here an charged me $99 to come out and $75 to run a brush up the cell a couple times. so i refused an told them i thought it was too much.
so i called a friend who picked up the pilot for $40 an put it on my furnace worked all day until midnite then it went out i had talked to who i thought was a manager who i told i thought i was overcharged for the amount of work that was performed. he said he would get back with me. so he called on xmas day after i called their emergency service an told them what had happened. so i got upset with the manager when he told me since i let some one else put the pilot on he is responsible after Mechanical Heating & Cooling left me without heat.
I think they were upset because i thouht the price was too high after i had already paid them $174 an they left without getting my heat back running like it was before they came. The technician never finish his diagnostic on my furnance because he coouldn't get it to work but still charged me full price for a tune-up.
The manager said that if they were to come back out to finish they would have to charge me again. So after arguing with the manager her told me to get another company to fix it. I have been without heat since 12/23/2009 When Mechanical Heating & Cooling was here.
