Since I remodeled my kitchen, I have had so many compliments on my granite. Bruno from Petra guided me in my product selections and more than one person has said that I have the prettiest tops ever. There is a large peninsula and Bruno suggested some design changes that really made the finished top look spectacular. I would recommend this company highly.

I'm in the process of remodeling my kitchen, my contractor recommended Petra Marble and Granite to install a Silestone countertop. They were the same price as Home Depot-but thought I'd support the local businessman.I also purchased a sink throught Petra. My contractor provided them with my payment for the sink and 1/2 the cost of the Silestone. I have learned from Silestone, a meeting with myself and an installer should have transpired prior to the installation to explain how the installation would be done and a contract should have been signed. I came home from work on 9/17 and the countertop was installed. I noticed that there was a seam in the Silestone which was only partially filled and that the soap dispenser was on the smaller sink, not where I would have wanted it.
I have been told by Silestone, that area could have been done in one piece, therefore, that seam should not exist. The other side of the room also had a noticeable seam.My contractor arranged for Bruno to come to my house to discuss the problems. On 9/24 we met and he stated he had to cut the Silestone, it was too large for the apartment and that the sink, was my contractors responsibility not his and it was the sink I choose. I made him aware, I would have chosen another sink, if I was made aware that it was too large to accomodate the soap dispenser. He stated he was going to put a lien on my Condo-since I stopped payment since I was unsatisfied.
We began a 3 way phone conversation with my contractor, Bruno then stated the Silestone was too large for the elevator and did not assume responsibility for the sink even though I had purchased it from Bruno. I finally asked him to leave and he said he would when I gave him a check, I was ready to call the police, however,he did finally leave. I have had 2 representatives form Silestone evaluate the work and they pointed out that other errors were made,1. the window sill that was replaced with Silestone above the sink, would need to be removed and recut since my special order faucet would not fit and
2. the area appropriated for the faucet had a bracket obstructing the installation of my faucet. 3.They agreed the sink area and my appartment would have allowed a one piece installation and 4.the seam on the other counter need to be fixed. They both agreed they would not have him install in their homes when I asked them. Bruno did asked for an additional $500 to replace the sink area Silestone, which would include a purchase of a second sink . My concerns are that he is incapable of a proper installation and his behavior towards me was unacceptable. I have been leaving messages with Silestone and to date have not had a response. Please assist.
