While mowing a field with a MX-10 and less than 50 hours of operation, I heard a loud 'bang', followed immediately by a second loud 'bang'. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something rapidly cross an unmowed area. While the PTO continued to turn, the mower stopped mowing. Stopping the tractor, I inspected the mower and discovered that both mower heads were missing. After I located the heads, I was able to determine that both shafts snapped off at the same approximate spot on the shaft. Further examination revealed that one head snapped off and had an impact with the second head (impact mark visible), causing it to also shear. I was unable to determine the event that caused the first separation (possible impact with a branch in the grass); but second separation is as clear as John Deere's refusal to warrant its product. I took the mower, together with its parts to a dealer. They contacted John Deere, who refused to warrant their product.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I made a call for an irrigation check of our sprinkler system July 2009. They sent out a gentleman who checked the valves and did some rewiring to ensure they were working. I paid $75 for that work. When he left, we immediately noticed that one of the sprinklers to the fruit trees was continuiing to run and would not shut off. I was unable to shut the station down and I called the Sunshine folks again. They sent the same guy back an hour later and he stopped the leak and said there was dirt in the valve which got stuck. The next day when the same sprinkler ran on timer, the same thing happened. It was again continually running from one station. Additionally, another station did not run at all. I called them again and they said the valve would need to be changed. I had the valve changed myself because they wanted to charge $150.
After the valve change, the sprinkler station was working but the one station that was not running on timer was still not working. I called Sunshine and asked them to fix it again. They came out, said it was fixed but the next day, it still did not run on timer. That station to this day still does not run by timer. I have to go out and periodically turn it on manually. I called several times again and spoke to Christy who said the head guy would be calling me to take a look at it but he never did. I must have left at least 3 or 4 messages thereafter with no return of call or follow up. What I did receive instead was a second and third bill for additional $45 service charge and then one with finance charges. What kind of company sends a service charge bill for work that they did not complete properly? All they did was drive out, tell me it was fixed when it was not and then send me a bill. It is still not fixed to date!
