Have used Winton's for roughly 10 years and had Winton's do regular maintenance on my unit. After my unit no longer seemed to work properly, I was informed a new unit would be needed. Contracted with Winton's to replace both air handler and condenser. Agreed on price and was expecting new unit that would handle needs of a two story, roughly 2500 square foot house. Winton's replaced both the units and exchanged both with units that are not compatible. The air handler is 5 ton, with a 4 ton condensor and a 3 1/2 ton compressor. The reverse valve went out within the first year. Numerous problems have occurred and now the unit has stopped working within the first 5 years.
I have a 10 year part warranty with almost 5 years left and was recently told by Winton's that the capacitor, then hard start and ultimately the compressor would need to be replaced. Agreed since warranty is in place but a charge of over $1000.00 was required since almost $700.00 was for freon alone. In addition, two weeks have passed and a new compressor has been installed, 2 new king valves, two new capacitors and we do not seem to be any closer to resolving the issue. Now I am being told that possible a restriction or the reverse valve.
I have been promised appointments on several different times only to be postponed or cancelled. Out of desperation to allow Winton's to complete the job, I allowed work to continue until 1am on one occasion and work did not even begin until past 12 am on another. Two weeks later and still no air and no answers. Worst of all no management available with the owner absolutely refusing to accept or return any calls. On one occasion, serviceman Hugh, posed as a manager and told me to get another company to determine or diagnose problem and their company would then come out and fix problem once problem has been diagnosed.
