Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On 12/22/2007, I got some treatment for breathing problem from Meadowlands Hospital ER. At that time, I had health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, member no xxxxx. I gave this to the Hospital. About two months back, exactly after two years of treatment, I got a bill for $2527.25 from the hospital. I called the representative of the hospital and told them to send the bill to my insurance company. She said they will look into the matter. After one month, I got billed again showing a reduction of $758.18 and balance amount of $1769.07. I called my insurance and asked about the bill.

The representative said they got this bill about two years back and they paid an amount to the hospital but they can't get an EOB for that because it is already two year past. I called the hospital rep again, and explained the matter. She promised she will look and call back but she never called. Two to three days back, I got the bill again. I called the rep. I tried to explain the matter. She told the insurance denied the bill saying no such insurance exists and I have to pay the bill since I got the service. I don't know who is lying. After all, as a consumer, I am the sufferer. $1769.07 is a huge amount for me.

Blood pressure and temperature cost $816 in the emergency room. The doctor spent 90 "seconds" with me and got the wrong diagnosis, but I got charged for it anyway.
