This letter is complain about services received at Lincoln Medical and Mental Center, Bronx, New York, 10451 by attending Nurse named on shift on 29 Oct 09 whom my brother requested she assist our (in-patient) 74 yr old mother going into the bathroom. Nurse G replied she has a pamper! My brother again insisted by saying that mother needed her assistance however because although she had a pamper mother doesn't like peeing on it. Mother utilizes the pull-up pampers purchased from home not from the hospital; however she would rather go to the bathroom and has it on for emergency. In any case, Nurse G again repeated "she has a pamper" in a firm tone of voice.
My brother being a male figure naturally couldn't assist my mother in going to the bathroom and therefore got highly agitated and went to speak to the head nurse who sent someone else. In the mean-time my mother had to wait until another person was sent in lieu of Nurse G. My mother has been diagnosed with cancer and today is in transition to Calvary Hospital at Bronx, New York 10461 for her Final days.
There is and was absolutely NO justification for this sort of unprofessional treatment by a Lincoln staff Nurse. I am requesting a letter of reprimand be for this Nurse through her chain of command. Please route this letter of misconduct through Dr. Boufford to whom stated on the New York Times dated 24 Oct 09, Lincoln Hospital is a "well run hospital"....
