I took my daughter to er on 6/26/00 with back pain . We were concerned she had kidney infection. After she was looked at by staff doctor he perscribed aleve and a muscle relaxer and the diagnosis was back injury. Many tests were done and I feel a simple urine test would have been all that was needed as a day later I took her to our family physician and she determined by this urine test in the office that she had kidney infection. Not Back injury!
My complaint is that the cost so far of this misdiagnosis was $939.00 and I expect to get many more bils from it. This has happened to me on many different occassions where I would go for tests at this hospital and they never find anything and they charge such outrageous prices that my insurance company will only pay a percentage of what is considered reasonable and customary.
The charges from this hospital are always over what is reasonable. I would go to another hospital but the next hospital is 50 miles away! We are stuck having to use this hospital and I feel We are being taken advantage of.Another complain is that they bill you for the services with a different account # everytime. For instance if my bill is $200.00 and say this month I can only pay 100.00. They bill me again and again and again with all different account #'s.. I am so confused as to what I owe them now I could be paying double for everything. I have 2 health care plans and they both get billed. You would think that I shouldn't have to pay anything..
Our primary insurance is APWU postal workers and secondary is blue cross ble shield highmark..
