My lease agreement expired Oct 31, 2007. I slept in the apartment that night as I still had a few things left (such as a laptop and cleaning equipment). Everything was in the apartment when I left at 8 am; by the time I returned at 1 pm, the apartment had been completely cleaned out and my laptop and a few other items where missing. I contacted the management office and they said my things could be found in the dumpsters. I never recovered my laptop and the items in it.

Most importantly, they claimed they could have come in at 12:01am on Nov 1st and cleaned it out if they deemed necessary. Yet for late rent payments, they can go up to 2 weeks before they evict someone. It wasn't even past lunch time when they came in and removed the few items left behind. They claimed they thought I had abandoned the items yet they never attempted to call me to confirm this. This is absurd. I was never late for rent and was a good tenant. I will never again rent from AIMCO and will always tell people about the foul play that they have done. This is very poor business. They have been trying to collect a "cleaning" fee from me of just under $500. I refuse to pay it and will take them to court.
