I bought a house from this company in June 1996. This house was supposed to be totally renovated. But it wasnt. I purchased this house for $140,000. Tthe appraisal report is inaccurate. The house has leaks inthe roof, leaking foundation in several areas, no pest inspection report until after the closing,no new refrigerator or new stove, windows coming apart possible ready to fall out.
I had no heat until November 1996, I had to heat my house with electric heaters, no real hot water due to no heat or I should say a working heating system. Weak floors, especially in the bathroom. The floor is so weak that we cant take a bath because if we put too much water and adult body weight the tub will probably be in the basement.
There is mold and mildew forming due to the fact that there is/was a leak behind the wall. Mold and mildew is hazardous to our health. My then one-year-old old burnt her arm on the electric heater because we had no heat. Indirectly it is their fault!
I was supposed to be sold a house with working heat and hot water. I was supposed to have a gas hot water heater, but you can't have a gas hot water heater if there is no gas line to the house. That is what the appraisal report states as well as many other defects. Plus the possibility of asbestos as insulation.
The house was treated in July for infestaion of termites. I had the opportunity prior to the closing to back out of the deal if I had known that they were present. Even the mortgage company had no knowledge of this. There are many more complaints and problems. I had two different lawyers and now I have none. My last one has disappeared. The last time I heard from him is june or july of 98.
(I have sent letters to) the New York State banking dept, New York State attorney general, Better Business Bureau, Nassau County D.A. office. I have witnesses and proof of all these complaints.
