Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Yesterday, Oct. 29, a review of our statement brought up an automatic charge of $ 19.95 by Simple.net to our acct. We found out that no one here at work authorized the auto pay and so we contacted the company. Simple did not have any service contract or paperwork to produce to prove we authorized the service all they had was A check for $3.50 marked Rebate Acct.and only on the back of the acct. was a small printed terms and condition that if you cash their check you would automatically be charged for their service.
We have contacted Simple and they agreed to only refund us 6 months out of the 24 months they billed our acct. We are also contacting Citibank to question and have them investigate how a company such as this was able to set up an autopay based on the cashed rebate check we deposited. We hope the FTC can investigate this deceptive practice as we are aware that in June 2000 there was a settlement barring this deceptive practice. We hope you can help us get all our money refunded back to us. Thank you.
We were charged a total of $478.80 for 24 months of unauthorized service and they were able to have Citibank set up an auto pay from our acct.
