Snap.com entered into a merger with xoom.com. Because of the merger, they decided to merge their internet services, including email.
My email address (birdsofprey@email.com) is a published contact for a non-profit business. Snap.com changed my email to birdsofprey.1@email.com giving me one week notice, no option of forwarding old mail and were unresponsive to emails attempting to contact them.
Since my email address has become invalid, the number of emails I have received has dropped substantially, and I believe that these people feel they can no longer contact me.
This is very unfortunate. Anyone who plans to invest time and promotion money into an email address needs to think through the process. The only safe solution is to set up a Web domain name and use that domain name for email (mycompany.com). Yes, it's more expensive and troublesome but it's worth it.
