In March of 2002 my wife entered into a leasing agreement with Ford for a Ford F-150, in San Antonio, TX. We are both active duty Air Force, and in Aug 02 we were given orders to report to Germany. At that time my wife started working on a plan to take the truck with us. After a few weeks of arguing with Ford and faxing copies of our orders, we were then told that we were not allowed to take the truck with us overseas.

Ford then explained to my wife that she had three options.

Take the truck back to the dealer, it would be treated as a repossesion and go against her credit.
Leave the vehicle in the states and continue paying on it untill the lease is up. Payments are $550 a month, plus maintaing insurance on the vehicle.
Sell the vehicle or have someone take over the lease. As of right now the truck is sitting on base trying to be sold, and has been sitting there for 5 months now.

We are just floored that Ford would do nothing to help out active duty military members. I was brought up on Ford and always thought that Ford was part of the american way, but I guess the freedom we fight for is not as strong as the MIGHTY DOLLAR!
