My husband ordered these Smart Lids, as advertised on TV, over the phone, for $10. They said that the the Jumbo lids were out of stock and would be back ordered.

The bill for the $10 order, turned out be $33.85. The P & H was $23.85.

We have called about the Jumbo lids several time, but they are still on back order.
This company is ripping people off with theit inflated, overpriced P & H.

There is no mention on the phone of such an exorbitant fee for P & H.


In the middle of September I saw these lids on TV call Smart Lids and I called the number shown and spoke to a recording. I only wanted a set & you suppose to get l set free. I did not feel completely right with this recording,called back to cancel but it was too soon.I called the next day and they told me I had to wait 24 hours. I called the following day and they stated the same 24 hours (I spoke with Shelly) On September 30, 2008 I rec'd the lids and it was just to many and I looked at the bill and it stated $49.99 but the recording stated $17.25 but on TV is showed 19.99(One reason why I wanted to cancel because of the recording)so shelly told me to fill out the return form and return and will give me a credit. My credit was return back for only $19.95. I called back and they stated that the shipping was 30.04. I told her if the shipping was going to be higher than the product I would not have order and I only paid $8.00 to return your product and I told her I am not happy with this and I will persue this.

They took my money and I was never told the shipping price would be that price not until I called.

This is the item I ordered the total charge with the 2 sets and the bonus jumbo lid was 75.65 I was charged over $7.95 for each set plus a processing fee total over $40 I misplaced receipt. All shipped in 1 box. I called and complained it does not say shipping per item or any other charge. The customer service rep told me to send back I would get reimbursed for the cost of lids only so I would be out over $40 I think this was misrepresented The first part of this message was taken directly from website. Can I do anything? If not please advise people not to buy these. Thanks for listening. I really enjoy your articles.

The physical damage was the stress it caused me when I received the bill


I ordered lids via phone and was told that the charge would be 20.00 for the product. An automated response kept stating that you could get an additional one free for postage and handling. When I received the plastic lids that were $20.00, I found that the company charged me 41.70 for postage and handling fees for an item that was light and went out standard UPS.

I believe that this is false advertisement, and the automated message is so confusing that you are unaware of what you are paying.

When I contacted the company, they stated that this is their usual procedure. I wonder how many other people have been taken advantage of, like myself.
