Consumer Complaints & Reviews

This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. I have used this company once before which is why I tried them again. So I was not put off by the fact that they use ex-cons to move people's stuff. I mean, everybody needs a second chance. And the one guy was really the problem..but he was a big problem. He is one of their movers. His moving partner did most of the moving--and my nephew who moved stuff so time would not continue forever. The beginning of the job was going smoothly until this man tried to hit on my sister who showed up an hour and a half into the move. She ignored him, he got mad and said she was mean, then he slowed down and let the other guy move everything while he folded blankets. Then when we got to the new home, I had to feed my family because of the long day; and he got upset that we did not feed him, also. He actually started arguing with me about me not offering him food. I was already paying this company a lot of money for a very slow move job. When I complained to the company's manager, he said he would look into it and get back with me. You think I have heard back from him? That was over a month ago. I am really disgusted with this company so I thought I should tell folks like you.

I paid over $650 to move a one bedroom apt! I have used them before and paid $300 to move a one bedroom apt.

On September of 2006 I got separated from my husband we had a 4 bedroom Home , so I decided that house that big was too much for me and my Three years old Daughter and we should move with my parents for a
While, so I called movers a company called Mr. Move.
I told them that I had lots of furniture and I need a 43 feet truck or

Bigger and that every thing was already packed and placed inside the garage.

They came the next day with a 26 feet truck and they had about 20 huge
Boxes that filled more then half of the very small truck they had brought. They Load some furniture and charged me $800 and they left to come back the next Day and take the rest.

And they did, and they promised me a very fair rate for storage until

My situation change and can get my own place.
In March of 2007 about 5 months later with the help of my family I got an apartment.
So I called Mr. Move to have my furniture delivered when I was told that
I owed them $4400 hundred for storage, and if I dont pay them they will sell my stuff.

I told Ed they owner that I was a single mom working 2 jobs $4400 so five months of Storage was way too much, and I begged him for a brake and he said no.

I borrowed some money from my parents asked my boss for an advance and came up with $3700 cash and he agreed to talk a hold check for $700 and they brought some of my Furniture saying I would get the rest after they cash the check.

After a couple of days he started calling me and telling me that the check is no good ,And he changed his mind and he wants his money now or hell sell my stuff.

I called my brother he called them and told Ed that he will pay him the $700 and hell Pick up the furniture.
Ed said now he wants $2500 because the check we gave him was no good and he doesnt want the seven hundred and he told my brother (I got her stuff give me $2500 or Ill take them home).
I have no more money to give to this guy who is basically black mailing me.

My furnitures is the only thing me and my little girl have left.

This company had come to me very reccommended from a friend who had used them 4 times. I called to schedule my short distance move for Dec. 27. I spoke with David and he was very helpful, knowledgable, and kind. I felt really comfortable in hiring this company after speaking with him. This would be my first time ever using a moving company and I had heard HORROR stories from many people about movers. So having a peace in mind was a HUGE relief.

I received a message on my home answer machine at 9:38 AM, Monday, December 26 to confirm the movers and truck. I received this message in the afternoon and I called them back to confirm. I spoke with a man who DID comfirm all my addresses (old and new) and date (dec. 27) and time- Between 8-10AM, as well as rate/milage cost.

The day of my move; I was awake and finished packing at 7:30 AM. While waiting for the truck to arrive, I moved all my boxes and small furniture to the large open living room to make it easier for my movers. I am watching the clock in anticipation of their arrival- soon comes 10:45 AM and I have not heard from them nor they arrive. So I called them.

They said that they did not schedule me because I did not call them to confirm. I said no, I did at 3 in the afternoon Yesterday and he apologized and said he didn't know what happened and that he would have someone dispatched out to me within an hour. I suggested at that time that he give me an hour discount for the inconvienence. He said he couldn't do that. I asked to be transfered to a supervisor.

At that time I was transfered to Eli. He was extremely rude and said that there was no way that this was his fault. He also claimed that his company was 100% closed on monday Dec. 26, so that there was no way I could have talked to someone to confirm like I claimed. I have caller ID on my home phone as well as a message on my answer machine to prove otherwise. When I stated this and offered to show it to him if he wanted more proof, he became angry and then began to call me a liar. I tried to tell him that this was absurd and he kept talking over me. At which point I yelled into the phone to stop talking and listen to me and when he was finally quiet I said to him that he was not listening to what I was saying. He then called me billigerant (spell?), a liar, and rude and that he was refusing me service.

Never in all my life have I even complained about something being wrong. I am not a mean, angry, or even confrontational person in the least. I was just trying to make this right for them wasting my expensive time.
I would not recommend these movers to anyone. I am an honest, hard working, ethical person and to be treated so rude and called a liar was Absurd!

The consequenses I don't know yet- I left home right after this to go into work so not to waste an entire day. Perhaps the truck showed up or they called; I will not know until I go home later today. But I rented a truck and grabbed some friends to help me on my own!

We scheduled an appointment with the employees at Lock N Roll to move our stuff. They agreed to send movers between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the following day. The movers never came! When we called them around 12:30 p.m. , they said they will send the movers by 3:00 p.m. The movers didn't come again! When we called and complained again, they said they will send the movers by 5:00 p.m. We desperately needed get our stuff moved that day, and it was too late to call another moving company. The movers finally did come at 5:30 p.m.! Then the movers said they were too tired from their earlier shifts and demanded overtime pay if they were to move our belongings. We called the employees at lock n roll and they just hung up! We told the movers to just go back and we ended up scheduling an another moving company for the next day. For everyone who believes in honest pay for honest work and the principal of how people(customers) are supposed to be treated, STAY AWAY from Lock N Roll!

We lost $500 - $600 dollars. We are taking them to small claims court.

We hired them to move our belongings on 8/16/01. We were given an estimate of $350.00. That seemed really fair, but it ended up taking them ALL DAY (8:30am to 7:30pm) to move a small amount of furniture that had already been boxed, etc, from a one bedroom apartment to a garage 15 miles away. After they had all our stuff in the truck and had reached the garage, they demanded that we give them an hour lunch in which WE were to drive them to get something to eat. After they had eaten, they demanded another $150.00 which they said would complete the move. We were so tired we agreed, but then, when they had only a couple of things left on the truck (the most valuable stuff), they demanded another $100, or they would leave. A shouting match began that lasted about an hour or so, and several times in which they attempted to close up the truck and leave, we were so tired of dealing that we just gave them the $100 so we wouldn't have to see their faces a minute more.

After a move that cost almost twice what they had quoted, and a full day devoted to moving 2 rooms worth of stuff 15 miles, they dropped one of our boxes and just shoveled everything back in like nothing had happened (the contents of the box had to be thrown away). They also caused extreme emotional distress from all the arguing and playing with prices, holding our posessions for ransom in the process. The sum isn't worth the time needed to right the situation, but needless to say I will NEVER use this company again.
