NMN agreed to broker my move of over 15,000 lbs from NM to CA the end of July 00. I agreed to pay them $6050 by credit card On the move date the original carriers did not show up. Instead, 3 days later 2 kids (aged 19/22) show up in a 24' Ryder truck with another truck just "6 hours behind". Knowing I was in deep do-do I called my credit card company and put a stop payment on the deposit.

The two kids moved my stuff (with the second truck coming two days later) to CA and proceeded to cause damage to my NM property - pulled the telephone line down, wiped out the branches of 2 full grown trees and took out about 15' of fencing on the edge of my property. This is in addition to leaving behind a fair amount of items because they didn't have enough room in the two trucks and the 12' trailer they rented! Which I had told them all along there wouldn't be enough room.

The woman I rented my NM place to also saw them pull forward with the back door open and a bunch of my stuff FELL OUT and got dented and broken. Not content with that, they apparently didn't block and brace anything and when my goods finally arrived in CA there was extensive damage to everything. Now, I'm thinking I'm still OK because I took out 100% replacement value insurance with no deductible. WRONG!!!

I have over $15,000 in damages to my furniture, including family antiques I have over $1,000 damage to my NM property. NMN won't answer my calls. The carrier (either EXP Moving or American Interstate ... depends on the day of the week as to what they call themselves) doesn't appear to have ANY insurance even tho I have a certicate of liability with an agency and won't answer their phones or return my messages. Someone at NMN had forged my signature on the receipt to agree to pay them and someone at EXP Moving has doctored the receipt that I signed when they "delivered" my stuff.

I have documentation of all this stuff and am trying to find someone to take them on legally. Every time I turn around, I find something else that was scratched, no longer works or is ruined. The "funny" thing is that all the stuff that I packed - all my china, crystal, fragile items, got there in one piece! Only the stuff that they were responsible for got screwed up.

On-Time Van Lines booked through National Moving Network lost many of the items shipped with their service during the move and they broke many items, pieces of which I have in my possession. I am still getting the runaround with no response! We have no bedding, comforters, no computer desk, kitchen table, and were charged an additional $1700 for delivery of some of our goods!

I recently relocated from Long Island to Tampa FL. I did not have a very large household of goods to transport (46 carton boxes, a queen size mattress set, a computer desk, a bunk bed which can be dismantled and mattress. This type of inventory, I thought would be a relatively easy move for a reputable moving company.

I located National Moving Network, who claims that they only deal with reputable moving companies. I approached National Moving Network, which was very quick to return with an attractive estimate for the shipping of my belongings. The estimate was on a weight not exceeding 3000 lbs.. They took a credit card deposit to "hold" my move date.

The moving company assigned to transport my belongings was GDK International Inc from New Jersey. Due to budgetary constraints I decided to box and pack my belongings myself. GDK International warned me that if something should break during the transit, the insurance would only cover 60c per lb. but they did not warn me that this included damage or loss of furniture.

GDK International did a terrible job during the move. Firstly they could not fulfill their commitments by arriving a day later than scheduled. This resulted in my paying for a hotel room that I could not even use. Secondly they were 3 days late after the scheduled delivery date. They did not keep me informed about the status of the move once the delivery was delayed.

Upon arrival in Tampa they could not get their 56' truck into the complex and had to make use of a U-HAUL rental to transfer my belongings from their truck and then deliver the next morning. resulting in an additional $200 cost for me.

Once my belongings were unloaded I noticed "crushed" carton boxes with FRAGILE written all over them. Inevitably there were lots of broken crockery from these boxes. The computer desk had deep scratches on it. It is obvious that no protection was used in the form of a blanket during transit. Furthermore the computer desk is not as sturdy as what it was when it left Long Island. The queen size bed frame was in one piece when it left Long Island. It arrived in Tampa in 3 pieces less the wheels and the necessary bolts and nuts to assemble the frame. The frame in its current state is useless. Considering that the movers dismantled the frame surely they should put it back together once delivered. Furthermore I would like to know that how a furniture article can be considered as Packed-by-owner when the moving company handle it from its original spot to its location. I cannot fathom the fact that companies who provide such shocking services are still in business.
