Consumer Complaints & Reviews

This horrible facility failed to take care of elderly patient. He was released to this dump from Kaiser a week earlier and died two weeks later. The facility failed to notify relatives that at 1:00 am he was moved to the hospital. They were not authorized to provide wound care and failed to obtain his records. The hospital records state that he was malnourished. They starved the patient to death. Patient is wrongfully dead. He was killed by Dr. Brazell **, Vale and Doctors Hospital in San Pablo, CA.

In September 2005, I removed my senior Aunt from a local Nursing Home Facility due to ongoing problems with deficiencies in her personal care, and brought her home to live with me. As her legal (POA) guardian, I have made provisions for private in-home services, which have resulted in noted improvements in her current health condition.

However, I received pharmaceutical billing from the Nursing Home (after her discharge) indicating pharmacy bills totalling $3,351.73.

After requesting copies of the billing, I noted that 30-60 day supplies of medications (like Vicodin) had been ordered, regularly and, on a consistent weekly basis, within the 2 month period prior to her discharge.

I disputed the billing, indicating this was an apparent case of "stockpiling"--since she had less than a month's supply of her medications, that accompanied her upon discharge. As well, her condition (in no way) warranted the need for the excessive amount of Vicodin and other medications that had been consistently ordered.

We desperately need an independent review of this situation, based on the facts, to determine the facility's justification for these excessive pain medications.
