i ordered a planner in 2003, but was unaware that one would automatticly be sent in 2004. $33.65 was deducted from my account 12/12/03 for a 2004 planner but i never recevied or ordered one. i have called aol 5 times requesting that order be canceled and money returned to my account but have received 5 different stories, no planner or money.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews
Every fall, things happen right on schedule: the leaves fall in the forest and AOL subscribers find themselves getting calendars (OK, "desk planners") they don't want and don't think they ordered. Here are just a few of the avalanche of complaints we've received.

In 2002 I ordered a planner from AOL Planner online thru their ad. Since then I automatically receive one in the mail for the next year and I have NOT ordered another one. I have marked return to sender on it and sent it back. However - I have not had a credit for this on the Visa account they charged it to. After going online to AOL planner I now see this same scheme has applied to many other individuals and they are also at a loss. I believe a class action suit against this AOL/Time Co. in in line to prevent this kind of scam from happening to others and to punish AOL for their unscrupulous theft.
$33.65 applied to my Visa and no credit after returning. I now fear ordering ANYTHING more thru the internet. This severely limits my selection of purchases and compromises my ability to get the best price for the product.

I was sent an e-mail from AOL for AOL 2004 Desk Planners at $4.95 each. I ordered (2) of the Planners. When my Bank Card Statement came I was billed $34.90 each instead of the $4.95. I have made numerous phone calls since Dec. 16,2003 and sent numerous e-mails and was told I would receive an answer by phone or e-mail.
I have ordered these Desk Planners for the past few years and have not had any problems.
I am real disappointed in the way they are handling this matter.

I ordered a planner for 2003 and received it. They also sent a 2004 planner that I didn't order and billed it to the credit card that I had used the previous year. I have not ordered this planner and don't want it. I tried to reach the proper people per their invoice, but was unable to reach anyone. There isn't a telephone number listed on the invoice.
I didn't order the planner as stated on the invoice with an order date of 10/31/2003 and an order number of 153936469 nor do I want it. Please sent me a return address or call me at 813-***-****.

money taken november.
sopposedly refunded december.
received planner january.

My computer /phone line was down so I concatced Aol to dissconnect service. The rep I spoke with recommended/suggested to go to a different rate plan $3.95per mo. I agreed to this plan. Approx. I was at a friends house and accessed one of my Credit card Accts. I was charged , I think the ammount was $9.99 about for The 2004 leather Planner. I ordered The 2003 Leather Planner last year and was very happy with it. The Problem is that I was never notifed By AOL reguarding this order accecpt by E-mail and the small amount put me over my Credit card limit. Which was $30.00 + the cost of the planner. I contacted aol. I and told the rep the sitution.
He stated that I would receive 2 free months of aol that I just received today only because I called reguarding another matter and happened to remember that I never received the planner. The address that I had on my acct. was **** ave, cinti. oh.45223. I would still like the planner and the overlimit fees credited to my acct. I just moved a few days ago,12-20-03 the planner Did not come. Mail it to my new address above. Contact me Via E-mail reguarding this matter. I am not on the computer too often so please mail response to address listed above also.
Thank You Timothy ****.

One year I ordered a Desk Planner AOL was offering at a great price. Since then, it's been 2 years now, AOL just goes into my checking account and takes out $43.65 for another Desk Planner! I have contacted them various times, and they reassure me that my checking account will be credited within the next few business days. This transaction happened on 12-03-03, and today is 12-22-03 and my money is still not in my account, and I need that for X-mas!!!

I ordered a planner last year and aol automaticly debited my account this year and sent another planner. This was done without any approval.
Being that this happened a month before christmas it took money away from gifts that i by for the family. it also made me very angry to know that they are able to debit my account without any authorization. Something needs to be done before next year comes around. I already cancelled my aol account because of this and will no longer deal with aol on any level!

Last year I ordered the personalized AOL planners for 4 friends. They were so chintzy I was embarrassed to give them. I called AOL to complain and make sure I would never get anymore. Now, I have been billed $33.65 for each of 4 planners! I don't want them, didn't order them, and haven't received them. When I called AOL, I was referred to 800-810-8238. There I was told I could return them within 30 days of the shipping date. Fine, except that the AOL billing date on my credit card was 11/17/03 and it was already 12/12/03.
As I have never been billed for an item until it was shipped, where were they? I went on line and had an email conversation with AOL billing. She told me they had not been shipped yet! She also said that she couldn't stop the shipment, but if I called the 800 Planner number back, those people could. Wrong. The planner people told me that they are not AOL, just a service who reports to AOL, and they are not authorized to stop shipments. What a scam! They billed early to inflate their assets! I will not pay for this unwanted, unordered, and unreceived garbage.

In September 2002, my father passed away and we shared an aol account. I call in the beginning of 2003 to cancel all service because my father had passed away and I was going to just add on to my fiancee's account. They convinced me for $2.95 a month I could keep my email address (because by adding on I would have to choose a new one) and just check the address over the internet. I accepted.
In October 2003 (over 1 year after my father passed away) I got a bill on my credit card for $34.95 for AOL planner. I called aol immediately and was transferred to 3 different numbers (the telephone number of the charge was not on the billing information provided to the credit card company). I was told that I had to return the planner (which I had not even received) and that I ordered it. I did not order the planner. About 1 1/2 weeks later, the planner arrives at my father's old address in his name.
I marked it return to sender - deceased and gave it to the postman. I have since called aol's customer service number 5 times without a response...the last time I called I was informed that the phone number is just an answering service and they email aol and it would be better if I just emailed them directly. I had emailed them previously 4 times. I sent another email after my last conversation with the "answering service". I got a reply addressed to my dead father (the email stated that he had passed away and I was charged for the planner) indicating that they sent him an email (which his email account was closed, along with mine in October when they charged my account without my authorization) with any information that they could provide him concerning his refund.
I can't check email on a closed account and he's dead so I can't ask him to repay me for the planner. It was returned and aol will not read my email or read the email from the answering service to assist me. The planner was returned and I still have not received my credit.

i ordered an aol planner for 2003 for $12.47. this was a good price & that is why it was ordered.
i 'did not' order one for 2004. i'm not sure exactly when it arrived because i have been in & out of town. i 'never ordered or authorized anyone to charge my credit card, [especially for that amount]. when i finally received it, i hadn't opened it right away,i realized the price was not $12.47 but $33.65.
i want to return it. please let me know where to do this. it is still in the box & perfect condition.
thank youlucy ***

In 2001, I ordered a 2002 AOL desk planner. I never used it, so I cancelled my subscription. In Dec. 2002, I noticed money was taken from my account for the 2003 planner. I called them, very upset, and again cancelled the subscription. When I received the planner, I mailed it back and my money was eventually refunded. I was told that a memo was being placed on my account saying that I no longer wanted to receive desk planners, so that this would not happen next year. Well, low and behold, the same thing happened again this year.
On Dec. 4,2003, after checking my bank account online, I noticed 43.65 was taken from account for the 2004 Planner. The entry said AOL Planner Renewal. NOW, I'M PISSED! I called the 800# listed on my bank account info., 1-800-810-8238. I was told by the lady (Mary, I think) that the planner had already been mailed to me, in November, and that I would have to return it before I could be issued a refund. She gave me all the return info. and advised me to wait. She said she was placing a note on my account stating that the subscription was cancelled. She said that they have a new system now, so the notes could not be erased. She said, in the old system, anyone could erase the notes/memo's that were written and that is probably what happened.
Well, it is now Dec. 13th and I still have no planner, nor do I have my refund. I called again last week to let them know the planner still has not arrived and was advised that there is nothing they can do until they get the planner back. I requested to speak with higher authority and was basically told that they did not have phone numbers because they do not want to deal with angry customers like me. I would just have to wait for the planner to come to me, so I could mail it back to them and be issued a credit. I called AOL customer service (1-888-346-3704) and was basically told by Jennifer #52123 in Billing that these desk planners come from a company that AOL has allowed to use their name. They are NOT associated with AOL. She basically told me the same line: "There is nothing she can do. I would have to call 1-800-810-8238 to get my refund because she does not have the authority to issue me a refund."
This is a very unscrupulous company from what I can see. I found this website by accident while searching for aolplanner.com. I did not know there were others out there like me. Even the aolplanners.com website is vague. I don't what else to do to get my money back. Luckily, I did not bounce any checks, but never the less, it's still my money and I want it back. Now, I am stuck with waiting for a planner that I may never receive. I do not feel I should have to wait for a planner that I did not order. They did not wait to take my money!

I ordered and used aol planner for 2001 and 2002, but retired from nursing and did not need it any longer. I called above no after I was surprised with a delivery of the 2003 aol planner. I talked to a guy by the name of "Steve" badge no 2340- told him I had previously cancelled the planner, and wanted my credit card credited with amt they charged me for the planner. Well, got that one squared away ok, but then, here comes the 2004 aol planner with my name 0n it and billed on my credit card for 38.65--I have written(emailed) aol direct numerous times, and they flat refuse to refund my money for this aol 2004 planner, if I do not send the dang planner BACK!!!
I REFUSE TO SEND IT BACK, I DID NOT ORDER THIS PLANNER, ORDER WAS CANCELLED TWO YRS PRIOR, they wrote back and stated, they could NOT even find my order in the database, ha ha well how do you fill an order if you do not even have one??? UGH-- I am at a standstill with aol direct co, for they want me to ship them the book back, which I do not even have--besides, I DID NOT ORDER IT, and should NOt have to pay for an item I DID NOT EVEN ORDER. I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESVOLVED ASAP AND MY MONEY BACK!!!!!! ALL OF IT THAT WAS CHARGED ON MY CARD!!!!
Many thanks for your time,

I ordered an AOL calendar in 2003 for $1.99. There was no contract nor clause attached to the purchase. It was a buy and sell. This year, AOL went into my account without my permission (which was a different bank and account than the one that I used to purchase the planner in 2003) and took $33.65 caused my account to become overdrawn. They obviously used my billing information that I used to sign up for broadband. When I called the customer service number, I was told to call back on another day. I called my bank to complain and was told that I would have to come in and complete a form to block all charges from them, but I cannot that because it would include my broadband service. I want my money back.

They sent me a planner saying based upon last year order. I ordered one last year for one of my friends. The friend is no longer here. Whom shall I give to. They charged 33.65 on 11/2/03. This is not service, it is theft, taking money by charging credit card. AOL is no good business practice.
I called them and they told me to ship back and issue me credit. I returned, but credit was not given.

I never requested a charge to appear on my credit card for a 2004 AOL Desk Planner. No one ask me for authorization to charge my credit card. No one gave me a delivery date or ask if I wanted to order again since I ordered 2003. Who gives AOL the right to take advantage of a person's credit card and bill at will. WHAT A SCAM!!!

Two years ago I ordered a desk planner and all was good. Last year they automaticly sent another one without my permission, they cut me a deal and talked me into keeping it for 7.95, But I told them do not send another one the following year. Well guess what, they did. I sent the planner back in the original packageing unopened and they billed me for it.

I ordered a desk planner for my wife two years ago. I again ordered last year with one for me. This year I did not order and have recieved 2 planners. these planners were delivered by mail and left on my front porch. Since we use the garage to enter and leave I had no idea they were there. I found them and from the information on the invoice thought my wife had ordered them.well no she did not and I called to xcl my aol service on 12-3 and asked about this and was told to call 800-810-8238 I did so and spoke with a Drew. A. N at station 10 he said they were mailed automaticaly and sent on oct 20 and i had exceeded my 40 day window for return. well since the mail service take 3-to-5 buisness days to send things and who is to say they actually shipped 10-20 and not 10-22 23 24 today is 12-4 I think I should be able to get a full refund.
Also these planners were billed without auth to my aol account. I have refused any further orders and would like a full refund. Also attitude from Drew was unacceptable. If he had poken nicely and not been as abrubt. it may have been beter also I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told they were al in a meeting,I asked for a call back and was told "THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN" WELL WITH CUSTOMER SEVICE LIKE THIS I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS. I am not happy and have been withaol for 6 yrs. Well you and aol shp direct have lost my buisness. Also anyone else i can diswade I will. I wuld like to hear from someone there.
Thank you,Howard ****,LDO.

I had an unauthorized withdraw from my checking account by this aol planner. I ordered a planner 2 years ago and never received and paid $8 for it. I called and registered a complaint with aol, they apologized and said it would not happen again and gave me a months service free, since that time I had cancelled aol and then when I went to the store I found I had no money in my checking furter more I was billed by the bank $103.40 for this unautorized withdraw that I NEVER made. I'm reporting this to my bank and this is YOUR fault I want the $103.40 put back in my checking. This is the very reason I will NEVER recommend aol to ANYONE.
Please respond immediately.....MY BANK DID....

I realized that my bank account had been charged $29.99 for an AOL Desk Calendar, after my bank account had been overdrawn by a few dollars (and charged $25.00 for the overdraft). While I'm not on a fixed income, I count every penny in my checking account and this was completely unexpected. I called my bank to dispute the charge and was told that I must have given past authorization and that I would need to pursue this with the company. I realized this on a Saturday. I telephoned AOL and was instructed to go to the website for the desk calendar. I did so and found a telephone number and called.
The offices were closed for the weekend, so I went to the form to cancel the calendar. There was an explanation that the calendar automatically billed to my account because I ordered a calendar in 2002 and I should have received either a pop-up or e-mail giving me the option to cancel. I don't recall receiving anything of the sort. Also, I had ordered a calendar in 2001 and was not automatically billed in 2002, so I really thought something fishy had happened. I was offered the oppurtunity to be refunded $20.00 and only pay $9.99 for the calendar. Since I thought that a good deal (don't know what I was thinking!), I chose that option.
Two weeks later, I have received neither calendar nor refund. I called the calendar dept. two days ago to find out why I have received neither and was told that the calendar should be here that day or the next. I got really upset again and decided to cancel altogether. I was told that I have to wait until I receive the calendar and return it to get my refund. I complained that I was also charged an overdraft fee of $25.00 and was informed that I could send record of this and be re-imbursed for that. Two days after the call, I have still received neither. I will be calling again tomorrow. This was really ridiculus. I question the whole transaction further, because I did not pay $29.99 for the calendar in 2002. I am very upset at this point and disappointed in AOL.

Last Year I ordered the 2003 desk planner. This year it was sent to me and bill to debit card = $29.90. I had to go to the Post office to pick it up and when I got home I relized it was nothing I ordered. I'm a single mom who is currently going to school and work parttime. the time it takes to follow through send something I never orderd to get money back I never spent is cazy. This is bad bussiness and horrible customer sevice. I'm thinking about changing my internet provider because I feel taking advantage of.

I too received a desk planner which I DID NOT ORDER!. Last year I ordered one, and this year I said "No". I got one anyway and the charged my checking account. I have returned the desk planner, and I have not received a refund as of yet.

I ordered the first planner in 1998. I canceled that back in 1999. They're still charging me every single year. I called like 4 times in 3 years. They said its canceled. But I still get charged. This month I got charged 38.00 dollars for it. The only thing I pay its AOL monthly like 23 dollars. But not the planner. I am getting tired of it. its time consuming, I have to call them, they give me the same answer. You wait one year and bam there it is. So I dont know what to do. Everytime you call you have to spend like 15 minutes on the phone for something that You didnt do.

i was sent a desk planner that I did not order. i have been billed causing my credit card to go pass the max. i am not charged an over limit fee, and aol refusues to credit my charge card for a planner i never ordered. this is not the first time, as last year they sent me a planner after telling them NO!!!! I ordered it one year and one year only. I paid for it 3 years ago, since then they keep sending them and charging me anyway. i am furious, i have called, and i have written to them, one time someone said OH we are sorry please keep the planner and we will credit your card,, it never happened. Aol is running a scam servie and should be reported to federal agencies
thank yousuzanne ****

i ordered the aol planner last year (2002) i read that aol would automatically send me one the next year(2003)a few months ago i got an email from aol and the instructions in the email were if you do not want this planner then just respond "do not Send" i did this and the next thing i knew i was charged 33.65 from my checking account.i bounced checks over this crap and aol will do nothing about it. i have called and written several times and i get no response from aol. however there is a way to dispute this and that is to go to the bank and tell them that you never gave permission for aol to take your money and they will do all the fighting for you but give you your money back in the meantime.

Today, Nov. 25, 2003, I received a Desk Planner (item Code: 0082682N00017413, order #153965567) which I did not order. Cost 24.95 plus 4.95 S&H. In 2002 I ordered a Desk Planner for 2003. I certainly do not want another overpriced, unneeded desk planner.
Consequences? I'm wasting my time writing this to you. Also I'll probably have to make a special trip to the post office--I have no car-- to return the planner. AND with my luck I'll wind up paying for it anyway after fighting with you and the credit card company. Once headache after another. All year I've been looking to finally being finished with the AOL Planner for 2003 and getting something cheaper and much more suitable for my needs. Now this thing appears in my mail. NO THANKS!!!

Two years ago I ordered a desk planner, which it was mailed to my place of employment, I paid $5.00. Since july last year I changed jobs, I never ordered another planner, not I was aware of an automatic re-order. This year I was charged $34.90, and the notice from aol planners arrived 3 days later with an email.
I sent emails, requesting refunds, I spoke with them over the phone, they responded that I have to return the planner, I explained that I was mailed to an address where I cant get it. Nobody seems to care, and most important, because of the unexpected charges,

To whom it may concern; I did not order this planner and although I do like it very much, I'd like to remind who ever sent it that last year I ordered it but this year I did not! I will not be responsible for something I did not order .So will someone , please take this off my automatic billing or whatever other form you have me on to receive this every year? I will order the planner in the future when and only when you offer the same inexpensive deal you did the year I bought the first one. I do not want to pay double for someting thats not worth the charged price. Thank You John ****

I ordered a desk planner for 2003. I was under the impression that since I didn't order one for 2004 that I wouldn't be charged one. I was never informed that the order automatically renews itself. On 11/17/03 I was charged $33.65 for a 2004 planner that I didn't order. I called AOL and they told me to call 800-810-8238.
When I called them I was told that they didn't have a record of my order. Because of this they aren't able to reimburse my money immediately. They took down my information and said they would e-mail to AOL and that it was AOL's problem. I called AOL again and they directed me to the 800-810-8238. And the cycle begins again.

Last year I ordered the desk planner they offered, and received it just fine. I was billed I think $9.95 for it. This year I was notified that I was on the list for it to be sent, but would be $31.40, but I could cancel it, and I did. I just now pulled up my account at the bank, to find that they billed my account for the planner for $31.40. I have yet to contact my bank, to see if they can reverse the charges. I can't find a number to call to talk to anyone about this unauthorized charge to my account.
I did not authorize this charge, and from reading the complaints on your site, it seems that people are being charged different prices for the same thing, for something they didn't order, nor did they authorize them to charge their account. They are taking advantage of their consumers, and give no way to contact them to correct their misdoings

Last year I ordered the AOL Planner as a gift. I did not know that I would be sent one the following year (this year) automatically. The generic markings on the package did not identify it as a aol product and the package was opened. I did not want the planner, but would like to be removed from the automatic mailing for future years.

I have ordered the desk planner for the past two years. I ordered two 2004 Desk Planners, one for myself and one for a gift. Last year I paid $12.61 and in 2001 I paid $14.20. I received the B/A bill which you charged $34.90 for one and $29.90 for the other!! Why??? I'll return them both, if you don't give me a refund for the overage. I didn't not unpack them as I'll send them back and expect a complete refund.
Sincerely, Ann ****

Received a desk planner calendar that I do not want or ordered. The website given to return the merchandise is not found using the address they gave me. Last year, I ordered a desk planner and this is how they have my address and information. In no way did I order this merchandise this year.

I recive a 2004 AOL DESK PLANNER and enclosed with the planner was a billing statement showing the total amount of $38.65. It also shows it is paid so I am assuming this was charged to my BankOne account without my approval. On the statement it said if any questions or concerns to visit their customer service website at: www.aolplanners.com. The statement had no phone number neither this site has any. (the above addres is on the package). I ordered this planer in 2002 by thought its only one time purchase. in 2003 i recived another one and i called AOL# and that guy canceled it.
AGAIN this year I recived 2004 planner. WHY? when I asked to cancel it then why i recived another one??????? .... I DONT WANT IT. PLEASEEEEEEEEE JUST CANCEL IT.

I received an AOL Desk Planner which I didn't order.
Order # 0082685n00017413Karla ****. "Louis ****" name on planner.

I ordered last year 2002 - 2003 but not this year. Please refund my bank. I do no want this item now or in the future. I am very disapointed with AOL. I have been a customer for many years and I thought that my account was safe?

I received a 2004 Desk planner that I did not order and my account was charged $33.65. I Demand that AOL credit my account immediately. Because I ordered a Planner in 2003 does not give you the right to assume that I would order another.
The consequences that AOL faces, is losing this account and me choosing another internet company. How dare AOL put charges my account without my authorization. Furhtermore if an item is sent without a requst, it is considered a GIFT, not an ORDER!!!!

last year I ordered a planner for my sister and myself. We loved them. We did not order any this year, as we swittched to day planners. Then, on 11/15/03, 2 planners arrived in the mail and our account has been debited for approximately $80.00 by AOL and th CP Group. They have no authorization to send me planners nor take money from my account.

I ordered a personalized planner for my son LAST year; I didn't order again this year but recieved one & the amount deducted from my credit card. I attempted to get in touch thru the website but it didn't exist. There is no return address but I am instructing my credit card company to issue me a refund. I don't want it & will NOT pay for it.

I received an aol planner which I did not order... all because I ordered one last year?? How terribly rude of your company to take that upon yourself to think that because I ordered one last year that I would want one this year... If your company isn't planning on becoming one that we can rely on in the future.. just how long do you suppose we are going to put up with crap like this... You had better get your heads together and strive for a better future for yourself.. and your customers.. cause from what I have heard from other people..
AOL isn't very popular... and I am getting to the point that I will not be a customer much longer... I have trouble getting on line.. and after I get on .. I get kicked off.. .so why bother... and now you are assuming that I want to pay for something like this planner .. do you think people are made of money just because we use the AOL service... you had better get your heads out of the sand... and provide a service that is reliable and what we want.. and not a bunch of problems for us to deal with...
Sincerely.. Marcella ****

I ordered a planner about 3 years ago. The folowing year I received another planner which I didn't order. I called and explained the problem and told them to cancel once and for all. They told me I could keep the planner if I just paid the s&h fee, so I did. This week I noticed $3.65 was deducted from my checking for another planner. I called aol and talked with Calvin, who said he would fill out a form and take care of this for good. The next day I receive the planner and I called today to aol to find out how they want me to send the planner back and why my charges have not been reversed.
I Talked with Diane who seemed so very unconcerned that I asked to speak to someone else or a supervisor, but she kept talking and I kept insisting to speak to someone else. This lady went totaly off! She just started crying and babbling about a migrane is all I could understand. Finally, she put Tai on the line I had to explain everything again. You know the sound like they are reading from a script and act as if they are robots without any care about your problem. Anyway, Tai referred me to 800- 810-8238 to talk speak with because he said the planners are put out by a different company, not aol. I told him aol name was on the 43.65 charge and I should not have to go chasing around from one number to another to have this cleared up. I should be abel to call AOL and talk to one person and have this cleared right away. Of course my complaint fell on deaf ears! I called the toll free number and did not write down the name of the lady I spoke with. She was the first one to tel me that there was a certain time for me to call and opt out of receiving the planner, otherwise they would continue to send me a planner!
This lady said she would make note on my account to cancel the planners, but I need to email helpdesk@aolplanners.com and request to cancel so they will send me a confirmation number right away. She said she could not issue me a confirmation number! Also, they cannot credit my account until they receive the planner back! When I typed in the e-mail address, guess what? The address could not be found, but I saw your link and that's why I'm writing you. They really seem to deliberatly make it difficult for the customer when it comes to getting refunds and canceling. This absolutely sounds like an illegal rackett! Help,Help, Help,Help. Something needs to be done to stop companies from doing this.

Last year, I ordered a 2003 AOL desk planner from AOL. This was a one time order. Yesterday, November 12, 2003, I received a 2004 AOL desk planner. I did not order this planner, but my credit card was charged $28.70 for the planner and an additional $4.95 for shipping. I went to the website to complain, but there was no way to speak with directly with anyone. I did learn that I can return the planner, but I have to pay for the shipping.

I ordered the AOL desk planner for 2002 and 2003.I cancelled my AOL account for unauthorized debits Oct.1 of 2003.On 11/05/03 AOL automatically charged my credit card 33.95 for a Desk Planner I DID not order. Since I no longer had a link to AOL, I tried searching the AOL site to no avail.I called the AOL 1-800#,and after being on hold for 30 minutes they gave me the shop direct # of 1-800-810-8238.After 3 days of trying to get thru w/constant busy signals or holding for upwards of 27 minutes,I got a CSR that said they were very sorry and they would credit my checking account w/the 33.95.This would take 24 - 48 hrs.
Six days later I STILL have no credit. This is a horrible sham and AOL should not get away w/this.They asked me in July if I wanted to renew the planner and I said no.I wrote in an email no.The business that galls me is that they had NO access or business to my credit iformation since I discontinued my service w/them over 6 weeks earlier.Yet they kept my info and used it against my approval.I will gladly testify or send proof to any agency that can use this against AOL.I quit using them because of the bad CS and tactics such as this.

The process of the aol planner. I received one today with a $33.65 charge, stated PAID. I do not wish to keep this. What is your process of contacting the customer about this planner. I do not want this one or any other planner. Do not ever charge my crdit card unless I have given you prior approval (this does not include the charge for aol internet service). I would like to send it back. I ordered the 2003 planner and have not used it.

When looking over my bank statement, I realized that AOL charged my account $43.65 for a planner that I did not order. This is the third year that I have been sent this planner, and each year I go through the same "RED TAPE". I think AOL's practice of sending unwanted material and then charging them to my personal account is extremely unethical. I contacted AOL and they informed me that I need to contact the AOL Planner department at 1-800-810-8238. When talking to their customer service representitive, she informed me that until they receive that planner back, they would not be able to credit my account. When I inquired about the time frame, she said it could take as long as 30 days.
They don't mind taking the money out for a planner I have not yet received but I have to suffer for their incompetence. My wife and I cancelled AOL 3 months ago because of all their Pop Up menus and then when I called to complain about the planner, they had the audacity to tell me about a promotion they were offering. Like I would be interested. I feel that my privacy has been violated and I think something needs to be done.
On top of all this, the planner had my name misspelled on it when I ordered the first one. I had to take a black marker to change the "M" they put in my name to a "N".

I recieved two desk planners and did not order them. I tried to contact AOL about them, but so far no response. That was five days ago. I am not for sure how I was charged, but the invoice says amount paid was 33.65. I ordered two last year , but did NOT order these.

Last year I ordered an aol planner for my daughter in law. It was never delivered.....I had called them 5 -6 times trying to straighten it out.... and until now I had forgotten about it. I just checked my account and AOL has taken out another 33.95 from my accout and this time no phone number. Well it is still pending but the account takes out pending money I hope I caught it in time. I reported to my account.
I was just searching for a way to find a phone number and found this page and see that I am not the only one they have messed with. Someone should be able to put a stop to this. How many people are they ripping off?

I ordered a AOL desk planner last year. This year I received a 2004 desk planner and it was billed to my credit card. I did not agree to this at all. This is going to cause a big problem with my budget and getting my bills paid on time.

2 years ago i ordered an aol planner, that was fine. last year i recieved another one that i did not order,i called, they told me i could have it half price i didn't want it but i accepted, and told to please not send me anymore.last week i got another one,i didn't bother to open i just mailed it right back.i have been trying to get through to this company without success, maybe you can

upon reviewing my bank statement i noticed an unauthorized charge on my card for an aol planner in the amount of $29.90. i called aol billing on nov.3,2004. i was referred to the aol planner group. after waiting on the phone for almost 2 hours an opperator finally came on the phone. i explanined the situation to the operator and she stated that because i had ordered a planner the previous year that it was assusmed that i would want one for this year too. well you know what they say about assuming.
she finally told me that she would put in a request for the charges to be reversed. meanwhile if i recieved the planner to please write return to sender and put back in the mail. as of nov. 11, 2003 no credit has been made to my account. nor have i recieved the planner in the mail. futhermore i was not notified of the purchase, did not agree to the shipment. on top of all that when i ordered the 2003 planner i only paid $8.95 for the planner shipping included. i called back on nov. 6 and after inquiring about the credit to my account i was told that their was no record of any purchase or charge to my account and was reffered back to aol billing.
aol billing reffered me back to aol planner. i have tried calling back the number i was previously given however the line is always busy wheather it's 1am or 1pm its still busy. i also posted a message to the aol planner website and recieved an email notification that my message had been recieved and that i would get a response within 48 hours. 5 days later and still no response. aol planner in my oppinion has some very shady practices going on. i am requesting that the credit of $29.90 be returned to my card. and request that i be taken off the list for future charges by aol planner. no thank but i dont want a planner.

In 2001 I ordered a desk planner from AOL. In 2002 they sent me another one that I did not order. When I called they told me to just pay for the shipping charges. It has not been used at all. I just received another one for 2004. I finally got someone on the phone and was told to send it back and I would get a credit on my Visa.and that they would send me the shipping charges. I called Visa and it is now on my bill. I cannot get them on the phone. The shipping charges were $7.85. I live on a fixed income and cannot afford this money. But I can not get them on the phone. But they sent it to me without telling me. Please help me.
Thank youAnn ****

I do on-line banking and noticed that I had two charges each of $33.65 from AOL for desk planners that I did not order. When the e-mail notice came, I promtly said no thank you. Today I found out that I have two orders! I called AOL customer service, but they said that I would have to call the off site number at 1-800-810-8238 to cancel the orders. That is where I found out that they are telling people that they have no record of the orders, until they ship.
I immediately went on line to cancel the order. Only I was directed that I had a "bad request". I got on line with a person who identified himself/herself as "Ricci" I explained that I was angry and wanted to have my money refunded. He/she referred me to go on line and go to AOL desk planner. I went on line to cancel the order, and it asked for my name and zip code which I entered. It came up with multiple orders. It asked for my order number, which I didn't have because my order doesn't exist!
I called my bank and they are issuing me a new debit card and I have to write them a letter telling them that I am disputing the charges and why. My customer service rep at TCF Bank advised me that I could file a Security E claim or something like that that will credit my account while they do a further investigation into the matter. I am so angry that a big company can keep getting away with this, and the little people with limited incomes suffer because of it. I consider myself lucky that my customer service person at the bank was so helpful.

I received a desk planner for 2003 last year. I called them and advised them that I never ordered it. They told me if I agreed to pay the shipping and handling I can keep it free of charge. I agreed to the terms. Last month my credit card was charged 29.90 for a 2004 desk planner. I called AOL Shop Direct and told them I never ordered it. They told me by accepting the 2003 planner I agreed to receive the desk planner for the next three years. I think that is the most deceptive sales tactic I have ever heard of. I would have more respect for them if they put a gun to my head in an alley!

I was mailed a 2004 AOL DESK PLANNER and enclosed with the planner was a billing statement showing the total amount of $29,90. It also shows it is paid so I am assuming this was charged to my cma account without my approval. On the statement it said if any questions or concerns to visit their customer service website at: www.aolplanners.com which I was unable to pull up! The statement had no phone number.

My account was charged $80 for two desk planners. I did not ask for these planners, and when I called to find out why I was being charged they were not very cooperative. They told me that because I received the two books last year, that it automatically renews itself. This information was not made known to me at that time. I would have never agreed to pay $80 for desk planners then or any time in the future. They told me I had to wait until I receive the books before I could reverse the charges.

I checked my online checking account on November 4, 2003, at 8:00 am and found that the AOL PLANNER/CP GROUP had been charged to my credit card for $33.65. When this was sent to me by e-mail I answered with do not send. As a result of this unauthorized purchase I now have damages of bounced check charges on my account. I need this reversed now and all bounced fees to be returned.

This is the second time/year that AOL went into my bank account for a desk planner for $43.65. Last year I had to go through my bank First Union/Wachovia to get my money back by disputing the charge. The big picture is AOL. Their customer service is very poor. They will not give you phone numbers of persons in higher positions to handle problems or errors. They sent me back to a AOL website and keyword to correct what they did wrong.
Shawn said his supervisor is Mark Richardson, but he will not talk to a live person, nor take or give a message to him. Keith Jensen is over the entire Billing Dept, but he also will not take phone calls, nor messages. That's a great way to evade, hide, and correct issues. AOL Shop Direct does not have a phone number, stated by Shawn. Then, Shawn tells me that the agreement says once you buy a product through Shop Direct, they have the right to continually go into your account every year without consent. That's another problem, if that is so, our gov't and regulatory bodies are not doing a good job in protecting consumers.
Last year I called them to stop any charge but my internet access fee per month, nothing else. Well, it happened again yesterday for 2004. My bank again is disputing this charge and reversing the charge. Another problem, Shawn #58717 (won't tell his last name)said, even though you correct it with the bank (refund, it is never truly corrected with AOL). Truthfully, it was a accident find your webpage, I was trying to find the way to AOL Direct to cancell them going through my checking account any more. Quess what? I still have not figured it out yet. I wonder about all the others that is going through this mess!

My checking account was charged $29.90 Oct.27, 2003 for a desk planner I did not order. I purchased one last year and when asked for 2004 planner I e-mailed no. When I called to reverse this charge I was given a number no one answers. I was told desk planner dept. charged my account and they would have to correct the problem. I never gave that dept. permission to charge my account!
I am disabled living on a social security income only; my checking account is very detailed. As a result of this withdrawal I was charged $20.00 because my account was overdrawn.

I noticed tonight there was a charge from AOL in the amount of $33.65. I first phoned AOL and waited for 20 minutes to be told to contact AOL billing online. I did so and was then told it was for a Desk Planner that I did not order, then he told me it was because I had ordered one in previous years, so therefore they just assumed I wanted it again. He then could not correct the problem, but told me to go to AOL Desk Planner, I did and it brought up over 600 different items. Therefore I will call my bank and put a stop pmt on this amount.

I just received a 2004 AOL Desk Planner in the mail. I did not order this planner for 25.95 (+4.95 shipping & handling) yet it was charged to my American Express credit card. This credit card is listed with AOL as it pays my monthly service. The planner is sent by AOL in conjunction with CP Group. There were no phone numbers to call (only www.aolplanners.com) and to return it, I must pay for the shipping. While 4.95 is not a big amount, it is still MY 4.95 and something I DID NOT order. With millions of subscribers this is quite a scam.
My time and my money has been wasted! First to figure out why I got this to begin with, what credit card was actually charged and then go online to find out how to return it. Second, repackage the planner and take to the post office, stand in line and spend MY money to return it; Third, to make the complaints. I never did find a number for AOL so I could complain directly to them!

AOL direct sent two 2004 desk planners to my home without authorization and billed my checking account twice for 2 different amounts -- one amount for 29.90 and another for 39.90. I was never asked for the books, I have cancer and need my money they stole. I live alone and have a hard time making ends meet; they stole this money and won't return it.

I received a day planner for 2004, that I did not order. It was taken out of my checking account. Because I did not know this was done, I am now overdrawn by $25.00. Since AOL took the charges of $29.90 out of my debit account, I am now overdrawn at my bank by $25.00. I want the charges put back into my account and the $25.00 overdraft charge paid for.

I have just received a package in the mail from AOL. When I opened it up, it was a planner and a paper stating that they were going to charge me $24.95 plus shipping and handling for the item. I did not order it. I don't have my credit card statement yet.

I was billed without my consent by AOL for a desk planner. They debited my account $29.90 on October 26th, 2003. This charge caused my account to become overdrawn and I incurred over $100 in bank charges, as well as put my account into an undesireable status!

I am on the continual order plan for the AOL desk planner. Last year an error was made where my name was not printed on the front as it had been the previous two years.
To avoid a return, I kept it but was told that the system would updated to state that I wanted the words, Michelle Wxxx, M.A., L.P.C. listed in gold on the front for the year 2004.
I received my planner today and there is no name on the front.

I received a 2003 deskplanner which I DID NOT ORDER and did not authorize to have AOL DIRECT charge to my bank account. My bank acount was overdrawn, which caused me a lot of emotional anguish and unnecessary debt for not having the funds for another payment that should have been covered.

I ordered an AOL datebook for the year 2001. This year for 2003 I sent an e-mail to Aol and said that I did not want the datebook for the year 2003. The datebook arrived on November 4th and they have deducted almost &46.00 from my account. I corresponded with AOL and they gave me the key word, but I am unable to find a way to correspond with them other then writing. The book has my name imprinted on the front cover. They should not have sent me and date book when I told them that I did not want it and then remove the money from my account.

I received in the mail today a 2003 Calendar. It states "Thank you for your order." I did not order any such item. I am told it will be billed to my credit card on file and I refuse to pay for the item as well as the postage to send it back. I have it at my home if AOL Direct would like to send a postage paid label, I'll drop it at the Post Office. I will not pay for this item because I did not request it nor did I authorize the charge on my credit card. I will hold the item for 30 days then I will dispose of the item unless I am contacted. My understanding is that by law, I cannot be charged for something I did not request.
