On December 2, 2009, I purchased a 1 carat wedding band for my fianc for 718.00(plus FedEx shipping) for our wedding on December 20th. The website promised a 2 day processing time however I noticed on December 7th my item was still processing. I called the phone number on the website aurumdiamonds and no answer. I called that number multiple times and received no answer. Therefore, I checked my PayPal account to find the phone number registered for the seller. I called the number on Pay Pal and finally got an answer. He told me that my ring was being shipped the next day (Dec.8th).
After speaking with him via phone he switched my order from Process status to Shipped and sent me USPS Priority shipment number which offers no tracking service. When I saw this I questioned why he did not send the item via FedEx as I paid. I called and emailed him to inquire about this and received no answer. Priority mail normally takes 5 business days; I checked the USPS website and noticed the status only said Electronic Notification of Shipment Received. This USPS service does not confirm if an item was received for shipment. It only tells the recipient that the shipper printed a label electronically from his computer.
Also, three days after talking to him on the phone his website was removed from the web. Therefore, I could not check my account to further confirm the status of my order. After seeing this, I filed a complaint with PayPal on December 17th in regards to the matter since my shipment has not arrived and the seller was not responding to my emails or phone calls. After notifying PayPal about the incident (which put a hold on the funds until delivery of product) the seller quickly refunded my money. This guy actually sent out a fake tracking number and pretended he shipped my package to me. THE ITEM WAS NEVER SHIPPED BY SELLER. My wedding was almost ruined because of this scammer. If I didn't pay via PayPal, he would have stolen my money and most likely said the package was lost in the mail and he is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Consumers please do not deal with this person. Also, please use Pay Pal or some type of security service to protect your money from scammers. Unfortunately, I did not see the consumeraffairs.com previous complaint about Aurum Diamonds until after I paid for the item. If so, I would have never bought anything from this person. He also sells jewelry on Ebay under Aurum Diamonds, so buyers please be careful.
