Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I purchased a camera on 25th Jan 2010 from bitesizedeals.co.uk. Based on expected delivery, I thought it would be there in time. In line with their cancellation terms, I then canceled, as I was informed they could not supply the goods in time for my holiday.

I received an official refund notification on 1st of Feb 2010 and they said ,I would be refunded within 5-7 days. I still have not received a refund. I have chased them 2 or 3 times since then, threatening legal action but had no response. I notice now that the site is offline, I can only assume they have ran off with everybody's money. Any advice would be very welcomed. Can not get my money back

This company has scammed me out of over 200 by charging for a product. It did not have and had no intention of delivering. Their latest missive follows: "Dear BiteSizeDeals Customer, we regret to inform you that we are unable to fulfill your order placed on February 8, 2010 that resulted in a charge to your credit card in the amount of GBP 207.00. Your order has now been cancelled and you should have recently received an e-mail confirming the cancellation of your order.

"Unfortunately, due to issues we are trying to work through with a credit card processor, we are unable to refund your order at this time. Since you paid for product(s) that you have not received, you may wish to contact your credit card issuer to determine your rights and potential remedies for the problem. We sincerely apologize for the cancellation of your order and all related inconveniences. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this e-mail, please send them via e-mail to customerservice @bitesizedeals. co.uk and we will respond as promptly as possible." Stress making my Multiple Sclerosis worse.

These two online internet merchants have been the source of hundreds of complaints about alleged fraud and selling. The companies appear to operate from inside the United States, though have an online presence which conveys the impression of businesses based in the UK. The owners of the businesses are not easily traced, but indications suggest address in either Wisconsin or Oregon. What is clear is that both businesses making use of webhosting services provided by a British firm called EUKhost.

I ordered a Canon camera from this site thinking it was from the UK and was sent the wrong camera. I also sent for a memory card which didn't work. There was no user guide included with the camera either. Total paid 191. I emailed them stating as it wasn't the camera I ordered and the memory card was unsuitable I would like to return the goods and receive a full refund. I mentioned that I hadn't realised it was being despatched from the USA.

I eventually received a phone call stating that as it was clear on their website the item would be sent from America and that they advise customers you may not receive the item you order, I cannot be reunded. That ridiculous statement I can't find in the small print. However, I was told to return the camera and they would send the one ordered. I returned it by DHL and last night they called me again telling me the camera is damaged and scratched. They now want a further 80.

The camera was not damaged - it hadn't been used and I checked it over before returning it so in my opinion they are lying or they have deliberately damaged it to get more money out of me. I have contacted my bank as I paid by Visa debit and hoping I can get my money returned eventually. I'm normally very careful with what I order online, but this time I've made a huge mistake not checking the reviews out first. Avoid this company.

$997 was taken immediately from my credit card for a product advertised as being "in stock". No product was delivered and no reply to any emails. After three weeks, I informed the company that I had reported them to the California "Internet Crime Complaint Center" (they appear to be based in California while pretending to be a UK company). They now responded by stating that the product was out of stock and that they would return my payment in 5-7 working days. Ten days has now passed and no money has been returned. All this time (five weeks), they claim on their internet site that the product is in stock.

Okay. I'll make it short for you, the next buyer from www.bytesizedeals.co.uk, they are not from UK, and they are from USA, so pretty hard to be touched by the UK laws. They are taking the money from your card instantly and deliver the goods at Saint Keeponwaiting day, meaning a month (two and up)! Tricks, usually they appear the first on a Google search for a lot of stuff especially digital cameras and software, best prices, .uk domain and first on Google this is the trap! Just take a look at their site: no phone number, just an address (States) and an e-mail with an automatic response system. That's it! I was stupid enough to order from them a digital camera (still waiting like a moron in the rain), don't do the same mistake! Now, I have to try a charge back and to write a complaint to the BBB.

Here is the page with other complaints: **. For the charge back, ask for advice from your bank, even if you used a debit card. Don't wait! It's in your disadvantage! Even with a debit card, you are protected! Of course, it is not a snap your fingers move but it is your right as a consumer so fight for it. Read here: **. I bought a lot of goods from the internet from all over the world. No problems, just some minor delays. So, buy from UK sites, even if it is a little bit more expensive, there is a reason for that. I have lost 226; it's useless to wait like a fool for the camera to come.

This company is advertising its self as a .Co.UK, indicating it is a uk based company. This is false information they are USA based selling into the UK market. This will leave customers with products that are not covered by manufactures guarantee or has warranty. I now have a Canon camera, which arrived faulty, and seemingly no way of being able to return it back to bitesizedeals. I have sent more than 18 emails to them to get the returns details and address. I eventually got an address, but have a bad feeling about returning the product, as they are utterly unreliable at responding to emails leaving you with no idea of whats going on.
