On January the 12th, 2006 I ordered a dozen bandanas from this website, totaling $19.96 I then look at the shipping charge and notice I was being charged $108.35. giving me a total of $128.31. Immediately I contacted the company via email asking for someone to contact me regarding what I assumed was a typo. But no response. Today Jan 17th, 2006 I received the package and found that I was charged $108.35 for 2nd day UPS Shipping.
When I last checked today with UPS they said their 2nd day shipping fee in the united states is $19.36 I realized something was seriously wrong. I called them 3 times today to dispute this and was told I approved it and that there was nothing I could do. I was told I was charged an extra $88.99 in addition to what ups charges for 2nd day. The extra was for their handling cost. No where on their website does it stipulate that an extra handling fee of 88.99 would be added to my order. I had told him this and he said, Eat Shit. Props to their customer service reps.
Later, I went on line to the same company, ordered the same item and was quoted. $19.10 as my subtotal and for shipping 2nd day air again with ups I was quoted $25.66 giving me a total of $44.76. The package weighs 2lbs. Why was my shipping total $60 less today?
The second time I called they blew me off again saying.. that is their policy there is nothing I can do and they can charge whatever they want it is not illegal.
If you look up the better business bureau you will find many complaints on this company but yet nothing done about it. Why Not?
I have copies and paper trails I could produce and plenty of time to do it to stop this scam from happening to more people. In addition to Consumer Affairs I have logged complaints to the following: BBB, NYS Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, California State Attorney General's Office, Aol.com, e-bay, Google and yahoo
I am out $88.99. I have no problem with the product and the 2nd day shipping fee that UPS charges $19.36 for. But as for the $88.99 charge for handling I will not pay there is no justification on the companies part for that charge. I would like to be credited the additional charge of 88.99 they claim is leagal to charge some one for handling when it's clearly not stipulated on their website.
