Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I ordered two light fixtures April 30, 2007. They charged my credit card and never shipped. Have contacted them via e-mail several times, and they blame it on lost orders, back orders, problems with the maker, etc. There are other complaints on the web about them and that they are a total scam. I should have researched before placing an order. Their web site is very professional, and I thought they were legitimate. My credit card company will not credit due to the length of time that has passed (over 60 days). I was ripped off for $261.34.

On May 20, 2007 I ordered four (4) outdoor lighting fixtures from this web site. My credit card was charged immediately in the amount of $112 and they advised me via email that they would send me an email when the product was shipped. On May 30, 2007 I emailed customer service to check status of my order, at which time I was advised via email that the product was expected to ship directly from the manufacturer on or about June 6, 2007.

On July 27, 2007 I checked on my order again and was informed that it would ship on or about August 6, 2007. On August 16, 2007 I asked for the order to be cancelled and expected a full refund on my credit card. I was then advised that they would have to see if the order could be cancelled with the manufacturer, otherwise I would be charged a 25% restocking charge. Finally on Sept. 4, 2007 I got a cancellation number. I then emailed and asked when I could expect a refund and received no answer. My wife called them about the matter and they never returned her call.

This business is ripping off a lot of people as I see a lot of complaints along the same line as mine posted on Google. No product; no service: and no refund.

Am out $112.00 and four months of frustration and anger. All I expect is my money refunded.

On 6/13/04, I placed an order at www.decorating-etc.com for three outdoor lighting fixtures. The same day I received a confirmation email for my order. This email stated that order status cannot be answered before 14 days go by because they are waiting for the manufacturer to ship the item to them.

Problem #1, unless you click on all the links on their website, there is no indication that they do not stock the item. Second, on 6/28/04 I attempted to contact the company by phone to obtain the status of my order. I called three times. In one call I was told all the sales reps were out of the office. On the second call, I complained about how I felt the website was not forthcoming and I wanted to speak to someone immediately. At this point I was told to hold and promptly disconnected.

The third call, I was finally informed that I has been speaking with a message center. The company can't even answer their own phone. I sent an email stating that I wanted an answer or I would report them to the BBB and other agancies and they called right back. I was told it took 1-2 business days to get an answer from the manufacturers. I had to send another email to customer service after 2 days because I didn't hear anything.

Although the company charged the credit card on 6/13, as of 7/16 I was told the lights were still on backorder, now til 8/26. At this point both myself and my fiance requested that the account be credited plus the interest we were charged since our card was charged immediately. We were told that they would contact us with the credit authorization #. As of 7/26/04 we still had not received the credit and I contacted them and threatened to report them to our credit card company for fraud. The credit has supposedly been placed.

I told them I would report them to the BBB again for such bad business practices and threatened to sue me.

A charge was placed on the credit card for over 1 1/2 months in which no merchandise was delivered. I had to spend time at work getting the issued resolved and only being rude or threatening to report them made them respond.
