I placed an order for a confetti cut shredder on 5/7. I received a confirmation number. The receipt that I printed out stated shredder would be shipped in 2-3 days. After two weeks, I sent an email to follow up on shipping status when I had not received the shredder. I did not get a response, and after another two weeks, sent another email. When I clicked on the link for status, it took me to a UPS tracking screen that stated, again, the shredder should be shipped in 2-3 days. I waited 2-3 more days and I checked the website again.
The same thing. After checking the website for about a week straight, I call the number given and left a voicemail as instructed by the pre-recorded message. I called and emailed about 2-3 times a week after that for about two months with no response at all. I stopped calling and emailing when the emailed started getting returned and the voicemail was full, and then, eventually, disconnected.
I found the email on 2/18/10 that company sent me so I tried the number and it went to a gentlemen that did not have any idea about the company Housewares World. The link to the website now shows: "ERROR: The store you are trying to access has been canceled." I was charged $49.53 on my credit card and have had to order another shredder for about $56.00. I've spent over $100 for a shredder that should not cost any more than $75. That is from searching different prices on the website.
