On 3/15/03 my dog Mandy received the Proheart vaccine and got sick. She was healthy five year old pug till she got the injection. She started out constipated then diarrhea. The vet had put her on different antibotics and vitamins and said if she didn't get better, bring her back. Well, two days later we were at the vets with her and she was diagnosed with JAUNDICE AND HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA.

They kept her at the clinic and tried different treatments and let her come home thinking she was better and she died the next day.

The damage is that I lost my dog who was my child. I have a distraught family and her brother got sick. I had to watch my husband give CPR to my dead girl! Then try to get her out of his arms. The emotional strain on me for letting her get this vaccine and seeing what my family went thru. We will always feel empty for her and what she brought to our family that was taken away from us.

Our dog was injected with the heartworm injection at 1 PM, May 28, 2004. She was fully healthy. At 11 PM that same night she died unexpectedly in our backyard.

My dog died within three months of being injected with ProHeart6. His symptoms are like those of other dogs who also received the drug and died not long after the administration of ProHeart6.

We have lost a special member of our family. Emotional damage is limitless. Additionally, we spent $250 on lab tests for nothing, and we also lost money spent on special feeders to accommodate the dog's inability to lean over to eat.

The 6-mos heartworm injection killed my dog and is also killing other dogs around this nation. My dog suffered and I emotionally along with him in trying to save him. Not one of four vets would remotely believe a NEW PRODUCT/DRUG INJECTION on the market could have possibly harmed him. He was one of the first group (2002) to have a reaction to this product.

These people produced the ProHeart 6 Heartworm preventative medicine. This medication was supposed to kill and prevent heartworms in dogs for up to 6 months. On the advice of my vet who said it was SAFE, economical, and convienant, I allowed this stuff to be administered to my dog Greta. Nothing was said about any kind of side effects or dangers to my dog.
Nine days later, she had a siezure and then developed Auto Immune Hemoglyptic Anemia, a condition which is often fatal. This occurred on 9 August 2002, and by 15 August, her condition had worsened to the point where we had to have her put to sleep.
This dog was healthy, vibrant and full of life and it was because of the greed of this company that they pushed a half-tested drug on us. They didn't give the vets enough information about the drug that had they known would never have administered it to our pets. After all, we must trust to their knowledge and skill about the health of our pets just as we do for our own health care. A pity that those of us who had our dogs die or hurt just to be "beta" testers for Ft. Dodge.

The loss to us is immeasurable as Greta was a part of our family and you just can't put a dollar figure on the love that was lost because of her passing.
