I signed up for this service on July 16, 2000. The total cost $108.00. I received a list and went on my way. I found an apartment on my own the same day I signed up for the service. I went back and asked for a refund because I found an apartment I was told that I would need a copy of my rental agreement in order to receive my refund.
My apartment wasn't ready for another 30 days. When I did receive my rental agreement I took it to Cal Rentals expecting a refund minus $25.00. I was told that consumer service would contact me. I was never contacted. I called several times a left a message at the from desk and in the mailbox of Wendy. I received one return call. I left at least six messages!!!
When I did finally get someone to pull up my file it was determined that the phone numbers written down were incorrect, the numbers were corrected and still no phone call.
On September 25, 2000 Wendy finally called, I asked about the status of my refund and she stated because Woodbridge Apartments is in their database that I was NOT going to receive my refund. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT IF AN APARTMENT COMPLEX IS WITHIN THER DATABASE AND I RENTED AT THIS COMPLEX I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE A REFUND. I was told when I signed up that this service was speciflly for the 'private' property owner I was not told that complexes were on the list. Wendy's attitude was very snotty and uncooperative. I have since disputed the charge through my credit card. I expected to be refunded $108.00 minus $25.00, which would be $83.00.
