I resided at one of their apartments homes, 4754 Hill Trail Drive, from July, 1999 to July 2000. I held up my contractual agreement for one year of residence and moved to another apartment home in July. I was told by the assistant manager and manager that I would receive my deposit of $400 within 30-45 days from date of move-out inspection.
The move-out inspection took place the first week of July and I still have not yet received my deposit. I have called them numerous times since,as well as, going there in person, but they are all quick to say they can not help me. I was told that it had been mailed. It is now going on 2 months without receipt of my deposit.
I called Aimco, their leasing provider and left them numerous messages, because you are not able to speak with a live person. Their message implies that someone will return the call within 24 hours. I called 2 weeks ago Thursday. I did receive a call back the next day asking for their property address to the management office I was having trouble with. I did not have that information on hand and they requested that I call back with that information and someone will again, contact me in the near future. The very next day, I left another message with the information they requested, but never heard back from them since. I've left 3 messages since but to no avail.
I received a call from the management office of the apartment complex this Wednesday telling me that their corporate office will be mailing my deposit via airborne express for today's delivery and that I should call today before coming to pick up the check to make sure that the check is there. I called at 11:00 ... it's not there, then 1:00 ... it's not there, 2:00 ... it's not there. It is now 3:00 p.m. and I am now aware that again, I am getting the run around.
To make matters worse, I have not once received an apology for the inconvenience and I now feel like a nuisance. This is no way to treat a prior tenant, with no problems in the past, and never a person with numerous complaints. I feel that since I met my contractual agreement with the apartment home complex, they should, in turn, meet their part of the agreement and send me my refund. Again, it has been well over the standard 45 days and my patience is beginning to wear.
