Before moving in 6 months ago while checking the place out. We mentioned to the apartment guide (Melonie) that we had problems with our last apartments not fixing the air conditioner. She told us they had 24 hr service no matter when call them and they will be there to fix anything. This was the selling point, this is why we moved in.
We had the apartment for a month before we moved in. But they weren't done fixing it up. We spent the next month calling and going to the office 4 times a day trying to get them to fix our a/c. They would say there is nothing wrong with it etc. It was always about 85 degrees in the apt. Finally they said that we were circulating 134 degree air from the attic. Eventually it got fixed but not without many confrontations and arguments which is not what I pay for. They also didn't seem to care that one member of my family is an infant. One of the main. guys told me that he had told them several times to fix it but they wouldn't so they already knew about it.
Everything has been fine until 1/2/04. We have just resigned a lease. The air is blowing hot again so I call them at noon and tell them that it is happening again and that I have a baby and I need it fixed. Nothing happens, they claim something happened to the computer and the order didnt go through. So I call again at about 4pm and tell them it is over 80 degrees inside and I need something done. So she say she will put the order through and get someone over their. My wife and son left because it was too hot.
So at about 530pm my wife calls very irate and tells them off she (Melonie) says she will call one of the guys and then call us right back. So at a little after six we leave because it is too hot and we go by the office. They had apparently closed at 530pm. My wife and Renee start arguing through the door and Renee is shaking her head with an attitude saying we have to go back the following morning. Then there is a message on my phone from Melonie saying they dont have to do anything because it isn't 85 degrees outside. What they cant seem to grasp is that it is 85 in my apartment. My wife and I could handle it possibly but I dont pay them to possibly have a working apartment and I am most worried about my baby.
