Ditropan was prescribed for our 9 year old, for bedwetting. We were not informed of the side effects where there is a Severe Weight Gain, nor that it effects the Thyroid. Our child ballooned. Today she is 20, goes to the gym 4-5 days a week, and fights to keep her weight down to 200 pounds. We have found no solution, but have found information on the web, so now we know what caused it. DDAVP was prescribed along with Ditropan. Neither should be prescribed for a child or adult, or, the Thyroid danger should be made known so a valid decision can be made based on the risk. Our physician knew the problem, we suspect now; they were anxious to get her off the meds as soon as the weight gain began, which was immediate.
