Awesome Auger

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

This business is such a fraud. What I'm most upset about is that I fell for their gimmick. Their tool seems reasonable, but their ordering process is deceiving and sneaky.

I went to the internet to order their $19.99 tool. I figured if it doesn't work it will be $20 or $30 down the drain, big deal.

The webpage where orders are submitted does not give you a chance to review your order. After all the free stuff they promised, my bill totaled $105.78. What a fraud. I immediately tried to cancel: ha! You can't cancel anything. I sent them an e-mail and asked them to cancel it. I got an e-mail back the following day and was told that the order had already shipped.

Sure it did. Billy Mays is turning in his grave. Those of us who sell things on the internet are insulted by companies such as this one. Several posts mentioned that they have to be stopped. Truth is, we as consumers have to be less gullible with this TV crap. As a poster mentioned, it will be very hard for me buy any TV product.

I've purchased numerous things thru amazon and e-bay, and never have I've been treated like this sleazy AUGER.

I saw a TV infomercial. I logged on for information, but had to add a credit card info before an information would be given. I should have known right there that they were a fraud. I added my personal info as stated previously by other consumer complaints to get from one page to another. You kept ordering, thinking and having experience with many online ordering companies previously, they always allowed you to check your order, confirm and change your order before submitting. Likewise, I called the very next day and was told it was not processed yet. I called back the next day and then it was magically on the truck and processed, so order could not be canceled but I could return it and would receive a credit. My bill was $110.65, I received a credit of $45. So I am out over $65, many calls, I tried my credit card company and Discover, after filing a dispute, said they can not do anything else about it. If you return it, Awesome Auger states the consumer is responsible for S&H&P. How can processing be more than the price of the product!

I placed a web order with Awesome Auger on Saturday, 05/16/09. The website asks for all billing information, then gave you the option to order additional items with the awesome auger. In addition to the auger, I ordered one each cordless power drill, drill warranty, weed auger. When I finished with ordering the additional items, website confirmed my order without giving me the option to review my order, nor did it give me a total price. The site did give me a confirmation number of order and also stated that I would receive an e-mail confirmation. Never received e-mail confirmation.

Next day, Sunday, I was checking bank accounts, and found that Awesome Auguer had charged me $158.58. I could not call customer service on Sunday, because they were closed. Monday morning I contacted Awesome Auguer customer service to cancel my order. I gave the rep the order number. Rep could not find order and told me to call back on Tuesday.

So, Tuesday morning I called again. I gave the rep the order number and told her that I wanted to cancel my order and gave her the reasons for cancelling, being that their website was an unfriendly website (site not letting you review your order nor a price). Rep also told me that I should have been writing down the prices as I went along, so I would have known what I was being charged.

I'm on the computer, why should I need to go back and forth between writing and computer (does not make sense). Site should have provided me the total price. Rep then told me I could not cancel my order, because it was already on the truck. I emphasized that I had called the day before and reiterated on what I was told. I also told rep that I was going to send back the order for a refund. Rep told me I was responsible for all shipping and handling charges and return postage. Because I had no idea of the charges, I asked rep what was the shipping and handling charges. She gave me an answer of $113.70. The costs of items ordered was $44.88. So, I decided that it would not be beneficial to send back.

On Wednesday, 05/27/09, received a pkg from Awesome Auguer. Opened the pkg and found two of each item. Never did find the drill warranty. So, here we're stuck with the additional items, which we do not need. I do a majority of my shipping on-line, because I am disabled. I have never in the years, ever came across anything like the Awesome Auguer. Every site I have order from have always given me the option to review my order, total price and e-mail confirmation of order. The Awesome Auger doesn't do what it is suppose to. What a rip-off. I expected to pay maybe around $60.00 total (including shipping and handling). I was totally shocked of what was deducted from my account. That's almost a $100 difference in price.

I ordered the Awesome Auger and extension and cordless drill. They ask for your credit card info early and then take you through a mind-numbing set of choices. I hung up. So I looked up their web site and immediately cancelled my order. They responded back that they could not find my order. This all happened on 5/4/09. On 5/13/09 everything arrived as ordered. I was shocked to find that the P &H was $48.90. I called their customer service people (1-866-504-7702) and she could not give me an explaination for the outrageous amount. She offered to knock off $10 for my grief.

i ordered the awsome auger on the internet. when i saw that 48.85 was deducted from atm account, i called right away to cancel. they said the item was already shipped. i tried for a hour to get reimbursed my money. they said just 19.95 would be reimbursed. that i would have to pay for the shipping and handling charged of 28.90. i could return the auger but keep the drill, i would have to pay the shipping and handling chargers to return the auger.

On Oct 17 I telephoned this company to order their product advertised on television. The sales pitch man,Billy, said that by ordering now two augers, an extender and a drill would be provided for $19.95. The automated telephone recording required a credit card number and a mailing adress - then proceded to qualify the offer by requiring additional funds for the drill and to state further conditions. There was to way to stop, interupt, or rescind my order. I repeated the call reaching in turn Donna, and supervisors Ami, Amanda and Jill and stated that I did not wish the order to proceed.

I was initially told that my order was not in the system meaning that it had not been filled. On Oct. 30 I received a parcel shipped Oct. 23 containing two small augers (used to drill for planting). My telephone call to supervisor Jill offered only to replace the missing items, the drill and extender, for an addtional charge. I refused anything less than a credit to my Visa card or receipt of their full advertised item set.

I have two short drill bits that have no use without a drill and an extender -that allows as per the TV demonstration by Billy for standing to create openings in the soil for planting. As a retired 66 year old male with spinal and leg disabilities I would be unable to operate anything less. The charge to my Visa account is $30.55 that includes tax and shipping.

While watching previously recorded video of tv programs, I saw an ad for an awesome auger offer. The details include a total of 3 auger bits and and free extender, plus a free drill; just pay shipping and processing. My wife placed the order to the phone number provided. My wife informed me that the order conversation was a bit confusing, and could not tell me what the shipping and processing was going to cost.

Being suspicious, I went to their website, got their contact information, and sent an e-mail asking that they not ship until I got exact cost amounts from them. I received a reply explaining that the items were free, but there were shipping and processing costs. In the same e-mail they broke it down to $19.95 for product + $8.95 shipping and handling, total $28.90.

After reviewing the taped commercial several times, I have concluded this is an outright fraud. In their own e-mail reply, which I have retained a copy of, they contradicted themselves. So I replied and asked them to cancel the order. They replied that they could not cancel it as it had already been put in warehouse status. I then replied that I would decline the charge on my Visa card. I also informed them that I had a video tape of the commercial offer and would make a complaint to the office of consumer affairs along with the video tape as evidence. The e-mails stopped immediately.

In just a few days, I received 2 little auger bits, no extender, no drill, and a bill for $28.90.

If the items were free except for shipping and handling, where did they arrive at $19.95 for net product?

Incidentally, there was a disclaimer concerning the drill. The drill shown was a cordless drill. A notation indicated that this was an upgrade, which infers that the drill you would get for the amount offered would not be the cordless model. I figured that meant an electric corded version.

I ordered the Awesome Auger apx 3/4/08. I did not recieve the product and tried to call and e-mail but got no response. On apx. 6-10-08 I received part of the order (two medal Augers but no other product to complete the order. On 6-11-08 and again on 6-13-o8 my credit card was billed $28.90 x two. I ordered one auger at $19.99 plus shipping not two augers.

When I finally got thru to a real several weeks later she said one charge was for shipping charges. I gave her a very hard time as she went in circles trying to explain something that could not be explained logically. She finally agreed to refund the second charge and agreed to send me the complete order. I could nor use the auger without all the parts! In July a credit for $28.90 was reflected on my credit card and I had received the complete order. (which was a piece of junk) and not what the commercial reflected that I saw and ordered on TV.

On my August credit card statement 2008 I now have another $27.90 Charge! I called. After waiting on line I spoke to someone and ask for a supervisor who was unavailale to take my call she will call me later! I would love to stop these people as they are still advertising on TV.

I have spent hours of my time since I ordered this product in March. I have not been able to till my garden except with a hoe. I am 64yrs. old and had wanted to make gardening easier for me and my husband as was reflected in the TV add. Unfortunantly the Auger doesn't work, I received my order in mid summer, and my credit card has been overcharged and interest is still accruing.

I saw an advertisement for the Awesome Auger gardening tool on TV. The device shown was a green, battery powered drill with attachments for tilling the soil. I called the phone number displayed on the TV screen and got a computer answering service. The voice asked me for the usual name, address and other particulars then asked me if I wanted to buy the Awesome Auger for $19.95. I said yes then asked me if I wanted a second Auger for $14.95 to which I said yes. Then it asked me if I wanted the battery powered version for an additional $40.00. I thought I was buying the battery powered version all along as that was the item shown in the TV commercial.

Then I tried to get the attention of a human operator by repeatedly punching the 0 button but to no avail; the computer voice kept droning on and on. When I couldnt reach a human operator to cancel the order, I hung up. I thought about redialing the number but I remembered that at no time was the option given to access a human operator. Later, I called FNB of Omaha (AAA credit card) to file a complaint.

I am now in possession of two corded pieces of junk which I did not order with a net price of $34.90 and a P&H charge of $57.80 (I am still trying to figure this part out) for a total price of $92.70. 7/24/2008 I called Customer Service to speak to a representative about returning these items. A computer recording gave me an item return address option but said that all reps were busy and to call back at a later time. Well, I dont want to return the items without a Return Materials Authorization number (I may be denied a refund without it) and that can only come from a human operator and I dont want to pay return shipping since I didnt have a chance to cancel the order, and the P&H charges are outrageous.

I am appealing this purchase on the grounds of deceptive TV advertising and inability to access a human operator to clarify the nature of the items of purchase, the P&H charges or to cancel the order. My credit card was charged for this junk and I was not able to access a human operator to discuss charges or to cancel the order after finding out that I was not purchasing a battery powered item.

I saw the infomercial on TV and went to the web site. Entered my credit card info but never actually ordered anything (never hit submit or OK or anything else - just went on to view other options they were offering). The site / offers were so confusing I finally just closed-out. And what they sent was rediculous - three sets of the same thing (the augers) with no connection rod and no drill as was advertised. It was completely useless. Their web site apparently captures any key strokes (isn't that illegal?) and that's how they were able to run my credit card.

After returnig their junk they finally issued a credit but it cost me $26.85 for their shipping charges plus what it cost to do the return.

Im writing to you to seek your help. I responded to an Awesome Augers Ad on TV which was offering their product. It was advertized 3 pieces of Awesome Auger plus extension In addition a free Power drill was included. The cost of the set (3 pieces and extension) was $19.95. I also ordered a Samurai Shark sharpener ($9.95 plus Packing and Handling $4.95). When ordered 1 set the customer service representative told me that P&H will be $8.95. I agreed to it.

When the order was delivered and I opened the packing list I was devastated: P & H Charges were $62.75. By their mistake the package contained 2 sets of Awesome Auger with missing 2 pieces in each set, plus 2 Power Drills and Samurai Shark sharpener. Per my estimation with the Awesome Auger Rep the whole amount should have come out to $52.75: 1. 1 set $19.95 (P & H = $8.95) 2. Power Drill (free, P & H = $8.95) 3. Samurai Shark sharpener $9.95 (P & H = $4.95) The companys charges were $111.35.

When I spoke to the Rep of Awesome Auger - Amy she was willing to send me the missing pieces (their error): 1 Awesome Auger wieder and extension if I pay the P & H fee. Please note that I returned one set (not ordered in the first place), the Samurai Shark Sharpener and paid for delivery another $10.36.

The question is: why should I pay for their errors twice 1st for the wrong packed additional set, 2nd - return of it. Please help me to recover my money and prevent that kind of false advertizing. By helping me we will save other people from a rip off as well. I sent a letter to the president of Awesome Auger on 7/12/08. There was no action taken on their part. Thanks in advance for your consideration in the above matter.

I went online to ordr the Awesome auger and once I went through the process the cost was higher then what it stated on the advertisement on television and the website. So I tried to cancel the order. I thought that I had cancelled the order until almost 2 months later the company debited my bank account for $56.80. I received the Awesome Auger in the mail on July 20, 2008. I hadn't been on their website since May 16, 2007. When I tried to call the customer service number it was busy then when I was able to get through I was placed on hold. I still have not been able to reach anyone at the company.

The company took the money out of my account and made me short on money to pay my bills with. I now have to pay an overdraft fee of 32.00 because of the checks that I had out waiting to clear the bank when they deducted my account.

This is regarding the Awesome Auger. I saw the advertisement on tv and went into the website. After filling in the credit card information I clicked on the next page and realized I'd just ordered the auger. They entice you with free products, but you have to pay huge amounts for the shipping and handling. All perfectly legal, I'm sure. My complaint is they don't give you correct information to get in touch with them. The immediate email I received after ordering included a website for customer service, but when I went to it, right up front they say they aren't affiliated with the tv ad auger.

I called the 800 number but did not get a real person. Instead, I received an email address. In fact, I received 2 email addresses. I cancelled the auger with both addresses. I told them I would be returning the product without opening, I told them I would be contacting the BBB, and I told them I wanted a full refund including the shipping charge. They claim it takes 4 to 8 weeks to send the product, but after numerous emails I received an email from them that said, sorry, we've already shipped your product and cannot cancel. When I got the package I immediately went to the post office and spoke to 3 postal employees about how to handle the package. They could see it hadn't been opened and one of them wrote on the package, "return to sender, order cancelled." I thought if you returned a package without opening it you didn't have to pay shipping and handling.

Anyway, I did pay my credit card bill in full because we do that every month, and the full amount of the auger was on it. I also filed a complaint with the BBB (who gave me the correct name and address for the company. That was another thing I couldn't find on my own.) The BBB took it as far as they could, but basically had to believe what SAS Co. customer service person said, that the matter was taken care of satisfactorily. Meanwhile, I hadn't heard anything from SAS, email or otherwise, stating they'd received the package, that I would be reimbursed, etc. I sent a letter to my credit card company to explain my concerns too.

Yesterday I received my next credit card bill and I see on it they've reimbursed the $19.95 but not the shipping and handling, which was $8.95. After reading all the complaints at various websites and what people have written here, I feel lucky to have gotten the $19.95 back. I have copies of all the emails I sent, the emails I received, and what the BBB sent me (emails). I guess they cover themselves, but I wish we could stop them. The guy who endorses them - does he even care what he endorses? He's getting a bad rep! I'm out $8.95.

Odering system extreamly difficult. did not received advertised package. Missing a bulb auger, extension and corded drill, instead of cordless drill as advertised. Called customary service, on my cell phone, all reps were busy, listen too elvator music, wasted 20 min. of my cell phone minutes, got tired of listening to the music. Hung up.

I placed an order over the phone for an AWESOME AUGER. I was never told how much the shipping handling and processing + what I ordered was. I received the items on 07/16/08 and to my surprise the total was $148.60 and 113.70 of that was for the shipping and handling and processing fees. If I would have know that at the time of the order I would have never ordered that. I called and they will reimburse me 114.80 and I have to pay to return it to them. I feel like I have been raped with my pants on. I want something anything done with this company. There is an Awesome Auger website with MANY disgruntled customers. PLEASE HELP. They over drew my checking account I also. Now have to pay bank fees on top of this.

What a rip off this all is! I order this product only to be over charged and then onl received part of the product. It is sad that they use this method to advance their finances at others expense. The company should be sued for false advertisement and for fault information and product. I will NEVER order anything off of TV again. Like most, if it sounds too good to be true it is..not probably...IS!

Because they took more than I authorized it sent my account into over a $400 overdraft. The invoice that I receive said that I was going to be charged $19.95 plus $8.95 shipping and handling. I was charged an addition $36.80 for shipping and handling. This cause stress and a fluctuaion in my blood pressure. The level of emotional stress I experience is unbelieveable. This company and product needs to be stopped!

They advertise this gardening product for $19.95 with a free drill. They never mention that the drill cost is $19.95 for shippping and unreimburseable. Then encourage you to get a second set (including drill) at a discount. You can only hear a recording and no option to speak to a live represetative. My $19.95 product was charged as $116.30 and mostly all shipping which they say is not reimburseable although this was not disclosed when purchasing. Even on their website it is quoted as This powerful yard tool is available today for only $19.95 plus $8.95 shipping and handling.

I called them from the 800 number on my credit card and spoke to someone live who did admit that the shipping fees are not disclosed during ordering but are NOT reimbursable if you return the merchandise so it's costing me over $45.00 in fees to return everything and have no product.

Ordered Awesome Auger, which included extension rods and Drill...$19.95 + $8.95 S&H total $28.90. Only received the Auger, called about the rods and drill, they said not included. Watched the TV Ad again and Web site and they were included. GOOGLEed Awesome Auger and there are hundreds of complaints out there.....

Lost $28.90, will never order anything from a TV add or Internet add again...

I ordered this as seen on TV item, after placing my credit card information they shipping and final order showed. I had additional items plus shipping that I didn't want. I tried NUMEROUS times to email and call their customer number. No one ever responds and the customer service phone number is always busy and then hangs up. I emailed them I wanted to change my order before they shipped and not charge my credit card for $125.60.

The product was advertised for 19.95 plus 8.95 for shipping and additionals 7.95 for the free drill. I ordered on line and ended at the end w/an additional auger set and samurai shark (which I already own). Today this origianl order arrived and would like to return the package and I can't get anyone to answer at this company. Please can you help.

I lost money and may get over draft charges on my credit card?

Saw infomercial about garden tool for 19.95, and if we called immediately the guy would give something else free, blah, blah, blah, so I called the number and was bombarded with so much stuff, free stuff, additional stuff, all recorded message .....I finally hung up on them because I couldn't get them to shut up!!

I didn't even think the sale went through. Well on 3/26/08 I rec'd a package with the stuff, but when I saw the bill, which was $108.60 and NOT 19.95 or maybe at most $40.00 + postage.

I reached a lady named Amanda who pretty much told me to forget trying to send back the merchandise for my money back for the S & H charges of $73.40;all I would ever get back would be $34.90!! I told her I thought it was a rip off and she said I agreed to pay all the add'l charges and agreed to accept additional merchandis and not to bother trying to stop my credit card payment or turning it into Consumer Affiars because they have my responses made on the telephone on a Script????

I just want to return the things I didn't order and get the exhorbatant shipping and handling fees, which, by the way Amanda told me the shipping was not what created the greatest expense. It was the handling charges for the additional item, the corded power drill, which was soemthing I did NOT want!!! I was trying to tell them that when I finally hung up on them!!

As seen on the TV, the Awesome Auger is only $19.95 plus $8.85 shipping. I bought one Awesome Auger through their website. The total bill was $110.65 for two Awesome Augers. I called a customer service at 920-966-6600 right away to cancel the additional one. However, a lady said that she couldn't get through to information of my order and to call back tomorrow. When I called them back after a day, she still said that she couldn't get through to my order. I asked for an email to cancel the additional one, but she told me I needed to call back them on Monday because I couldn't do it through email. How can they send a confirmation of my order but couldn't get through to my order? They are really a SCAM with the order.
