I brought my scooter in to Scooter Escapes get the carb adjusted and a new light bulb installed. When I came back to Scooter Escapes to pick it up the guy at the counter told me that he found another (totally unrelated) problem in the clutch. He said that he replaced the clutch bearing in order to fix the problem. The cost rose well above what I was originally quoted AND I did not even ask him to do the repair in the first place. When I refused to pay for the extra work he told me that he had what is called a mechanics lien on it and I could not take it without paying for the unwanted repair. Eventually I told him that I would pay however I was going to write a review about this on the net. He replied that he would simply counter it by having his wife write lots of positive reviews for him (presumably to counter my review).
I was overcharged by $23.36 plus $60.00 labor and tax on work that was neither necessary NOR REQUESTED.
