My daughter had a bike wreck. The handle grips had previously came off obviously because they were not securely put on, but when she wrecked the handlebar impaled into her pelvis requiring an ER visit, stitches to her pelvic area, then transferred to a children's hospital with free air in her abdomen and laparoscopic surgery to confirm no internal damages. Have there been any recalls on the handle bar grips or anything? After the grips came off, it exposed the blunt sharp metal.

On 3/28/09, I purchased a bike for my 7-year-old-son. The model number is 91644wmkt and the serial number is snfd08j02770. My son had been complaining that the bike did not stop very good, but I had ignored up to this point. Yesterday, I was riding the bike and found that there is a severe issue with the braking system on this particular bike. The wheels are made of aluminum, which is fairly slick anyway. But I have to say that when I applied the brakes, it took me roughly two house properties to stop the bike. I feel that if my son needs to stop the bike in an emergency, it might not stop soon enough to prevent one. Please respond ASAP as I feel that this issue must be resolved by either repairing the braking system or replacing the bike.

I bought two mongoose bikes from wal mart. One it the 250, and the other is the black comb... The 250 has a front disc brake and standard rear brakes. The black comb has front and rear discs. Now, disc brakes may be the "New Fad", but they are reall a pain in the ass.. Yes, they do work, but sand is always in them, they bend if you slam on them too hard, and they just require a bunch of work that normal brakes dont... I think it is a scam that i paid hundreds more, for disc brakes, when I think regular brakes work better... I think the price should be stepped down.. Does it really take 200.00 to screw on a couple of discs and such???
