I want to file a complaint about shopping carts that do not fit infant car seats properly. All infant car seats come designed to fit safely in shopping carts, however, many shopping carts are too small to fit infant car seats and therefore are dangerous.
I have felt this way since the birth of my 2 yr. oldHowever, last week my 4-month-old baby was in an infant car seat in the parking lot of a grocery store when I hit a bump in the road and her car seat fell off the cart and tumbled to the ground. Luckily, no harm came to her except a little shock.
This accident could have been prevented if there was a regulation for shopping carts to accommodate infant car seats and my baby's car seat was secured on the shopping cart. There are now regulations for cars to come equipped to properly fit children's car seats, why not shopping carts?
Many carts are just too small or unstable to hold infant car seats. Please, can you put a regulation out on shopping carts to be designed to safely fit infant car seats??
My 4 month old was tossed from the shopping cart and fell to the ground in her infant car seat. She suffered a bruise and shock but no other harm, however, I myself suffered & am suffering the emotional trauma of seeing my baby fall and tumble.
