In 2009, we booked Scandinavian tour. We paid $5,500. Eight days before the start of the tour, we were told that because there's not enough people for the group, no tour will be conducted. But Tatyana, the president of Best American Travel, refuses to return all the money. She said that you have to go to a doctor, and cancel your trip based on medical note! Just outrageous. As a result she got in her pocket $4000!

We purchased a group tour to Italy. Last day before we had to fly, all our hotels were changed for worse locations in most cities. Also we had to travel 63 people group that is too many, and we lost a lot of time and quality of tour because of that number of travelers together. Also we were double (or even more) charged for additional tours that were not included in our package. it was explained that money should be also paid to a tour guide. However, paying all together 450 Euro, we got that guide response that she was paid 50 Euro per hour (150 Euro for 3 hours). We had 4-5 tours like that.

Every person of our group was overcharged about $100 in addition to an inconvenience of the tour (63 people) and changing hotels in the last minute, when we couldn't even to cancel our trips.


On 05/23-06/04/2008 I had trip to Italy which was organized by the Russian - English language company The Best American Travel, NY. Owner and Manager the Company are Ms. Tatyana D. The Company Office sent me the contract for the trip I paid for. The contract included the list of cities to stay, promised 3 star hotels, number of days per each city of the trip. During the trip: 1. The Company placed us in the unrated or 2 star hotels instead of 3 star as it was promised in the contract. 2 The Company changed the number of days to see some cities from 3 days to a few hours. 3 In the city of Venice the Company reserved hotel not in one of the suburbs but very far from Venice, in the city Liedo de Jesolo.

So, I had seen Venice a few hours, instead a few days as it was stated in the contract. And I spent the remaining days at the hotel instead of having the journeys in Milan and Venice. As result I didn't see places promised to me in the contract. On 06/10/2008, I sent e-mail to company The Best American Travel with explanation of the problems I had during the trip and asked for the refund of the cost of the undelivered services. I sent 3 e-mails, each time I received the confirmation of the delivery, however Ms. D. told me that she didn't receive my e-mails when I contacted her by phone.

My lawyer recommended me to send the letter by USPS with signature of delivery. After that Ms. Tatyana D. confirmed the receiving of the letter and asked me to call her in a few days. After 14 calls to the Company, she asked me to send her my estimate of the refund, which I sent promptly. After that I called 8 times to Ms. D. and each time she answered me: I didn't receive yet answer from my accounting person for that complain, please call me in a few days. After all, I haven't receive the refund or even the promise to send it to me. My loss is $464
