On 12/28/04 we were made to pay an escort fee for my 12-year-old son who was traveling with my 16-year-old daughter. We were told that they would not be allowed on the aircarft unless we paid the $75 and that this is their policy. But when my son and duaghter traveled from LAX to PVD on 12/18/04 we were not even questioned about their age, status, etc. and when they were orginally supposed to fly back on 12/26/04 to LAX they were checked in again without any question of a fee needing to be paid.
Also, my 14year-old daughter traveled from BDL to LAX and back again without any question if she needed an escort or a fee needing to be paid. My wife had to escort my children to the gate. My 16-year-old daughter's name was put on the paperwork not even my sons which the rep said was who needed the escort. When they had a layover in CLE the airlines kept their tickets but let my children roam around the airport unescorted. What did I pay an escort fee for?Continental Airlines so called policy only seems to be in place when it is conveinent for them.
