Consumer Complaints & Reviews

We may have to repurchase tickets for hte last leg of our journey from NY to SF. I do not want to get into the details of our ordeal with Cost Jet, but I plan on initiating a class action lawsuit against the organization.

We booked 2 round trip tickets through costjet.com, at a decent rate. We got confirmation of the flights, on November 18, 2008. My gf asked me to confirm with the airlines, just to be sure. I call the airlines, they advise our reservations had been cancelled on December 17th. NO ONE informed us of this, had I not checked we would not have had a flight to Lauderdale, and would have missed our cruise to the Caribbean. This company is fraudulant, no one answers the phone. There is now an upfront message that says the company is out of business....

It cost us an additional $224, to book additional tickets.

I have not been able to contact anyone regarding a rebate that I am due. I booked flight from Las Vegas to Milwaukee on Dec. 17, 2008 and a return fligt Milwaukee to Las Vegas on Dec 28, 2008. I am owed $54 in rebates. I have contaced several people and was told by phone that they would send me the forms. I did not receive them. I called again and was told to go on Web site. I can not get on that web site.

I then have called several times and have left messages several times to call me an no one has bothered to return my call. The flight was very smooth, but this is just annoying.

I booked two tickets during CostJet's August promotion. My travel confirmation shows a $15 Mail-In Rebate and a $30 Cost Jet Trip Booking Rebate. While I was making my reservation I was having difficulty accessing the rebate forms so I called into the Customer Service/Care Department where I was assisted in getting the $15 Rebate Form. (It's extremely difficult to get in touch with their Customer Service Department.

I had to call numerous times just to get through, this is extremely frustrating.) Once I was actually able to get through, I inquired about the $30 rebate form, and the Customer Service/Care Representative told me that I would receive a form to fill out to get my $30 rebate when I received my $15 cheque in the mail. At no time during the conversation with the CSR did she mention that the $30 was a voucher. I read everything I could find on the website concerning the terms of the rebates and found nothing concerning a voucher. I called because I was having difficulty booking my flights and was trying to get assistance. I expected to get the proper information from the CSR. I would never have booked the trip on CostJet had I known that this was a voucher. A voucher is not a rebate and using this language on the travel confirmation (and on the website) is false advertising.

The only reason I actually found out that the rebate was a voucher was because I had to call Cost Jet back to get my seats reassigned. I asked the CSR about the $30 rebate and she told me that it was a voucher. She suggested I email rebates@costjet.com and copy customercare@costjet.com. I received an email back from customercare@costjet.com blowing me off and telling me I could contact the Board of Directors. I replied to customercare@costjet.com to get more information the same day, and I have had no further response. Plus, I have yet to hear back from rebates@costjet.com. This is not customer service!

I wrote the the Board of Directors and have not heard back from them either.

Beware!!! They're not as cheap as you think, nor do they have good/reliable customer service. I recommend you not use them.

We ended up paying an extra $30 per ticket($45 until we get our $15 back) for our tickets. We could have gotten a cheaper flight somewhere else.

Similar to other complaints, CostJet confirmed 2 flights on South Africa Air on Saturday but they failed to acknowledge the confirmation and said they could no longer fly to Africa because of fraud TOTAL BS They still allow one to book a flight to Africa. The real problem was that their website confirmed a lower price than the SAA website so they refused to honor their committment. They are a lousy website and I would recommend that you not use it because they are not dependable.

On 9/20/2008 I shopped for two airline tickets via a few sites. Costjet popped up on one of the sites and was offering the best rate and times to travel. So I bite. At 12:10 pm I received an email travel confirmation including a confirm no. I also have a three page trip reservation itinerary, listing all of our travel details. Then on 9/21 I received an email stating that they were unable to confirm our reservation and listed four possible reasons this could have happened. In the correspondence they wrote It is important to note that you do not have any flights booked, and your credit card Will Not be charged. (they even highlighted and captilalized will not!)

For assurance I called my credit card company to check my funds, and Costjet had indeed deducted money from my acct. I was livid and instantly thought and felt violated. Well I called Costjets 800 no. and the rep. who answered stated she was the only one in the office, and that the reason why tickets weren't issued is because there is no contract between, one or couple of the airlines that we were to fly with. She could not help me with the return of my funds either because this was a billing issue. In the meantime I have almost a thousand dollars being held on my acct. a email stating that my credit card would not be charged, and no tickets to fly out and can't buy any tickets because our funds are being held.

It is now Wednesday 9/24 and the funds still have not been released back to my acct, even though Amy at Costjet claims she faxed a statement to release funds back to my acct. on Monday. (per my credit card companies request.)She states she couldn't email me a copy of this corresponce because she doesn't have a scanner and I do not have a fax. Yet I am looking a an email with her name on it. I have dealth with numerous travel co. previously, never have I experienced such a violation of my consumer rights. Kim and the company she represents fraudulently took money (placed a hold on our money) with no attempt at providing us with airline tickets. All based on a lack of contract they have with an airline, which they should've worked out prior to placing their flights as a option on their web site.

In two days in would be a week that $983.92 of my funds have been helded and not returned to my acct.

I purchased a roundtrip airline ticket through CostJet.com for my stepson to come visit us for 2 weeks. I received a confirmation from them via email with both flights listed. They charged our debit card. They said they would email actual etickets within a few minutes which I never got. I called Frontier Airlines and they verified the tickets and said just bring ID.

He got here fine and 2 weeks later when he was supposed to go back home to start school I called Frontier just to verify since we still didn't have etickets. I was expecting the same answer of just bring ID. They didn't have any record of the reservation. I was looking at the confirmation on my computer from CostJet and Frontier said they didn't have it. This was the day before he was to leave.

I immediately called CostJet and they didn't answer even though it was during business hours. I accessed their website to see if there was any other numbers or an email link. I clicked on the email link and nothing happened. I left messages to recieve a call back and didn't hear anything.

My stepsons flight came and went without him on it. Now he is missing school. I called again today and still no answer. Left another message, still no response. I tried to access their website to see if the email link was working and lo and behold there is no webpage now. Frontier said they could sell me another ticket but at this point it is twice as much as the roundtrip I just paid for and they said take it up with CostJet.

I can't get ahold of CostJet. It's like they don't exist. ONLY BUY TICKETS FROM THE ACTUAL AIRLINES. None of these discount companies are a deal. I have no idea how to make a formal complaint. I called Frontier Airlines customer relations to complain to them so they won't work with CostJet anymore. Haven't received a call back from them either. I just need to know who I make a formal complaint to about this

I paid for a round trip ticket. They took the money from the debit card. I assumed there was a return flight so I didn't book an additional return flight of course. Now to get him back on the day he was scheduled to go back it is double the amount for a one way ticket through the airline.

I won't book on a discount site again. My husband was very angry with me and we fought all day. I showed him the confirmation that showed both flights and that it wasn't my fault.

My stepson is now just getting into more trouble out here hanging out with friends and causing problems when he is supposed to be in school in California now. He doesn't do well in school so even missing a day is detrimental to him. Now to afford a ticket it will be 2 weeks so we can reserve in advance to make it less expensive and he is missing school all that time.

We don't have room for him as it was just supposed to be a short stay. He is getting picked up truant when he is just wandering around with nothing to do. All his friends out here are already in school.
