I purchased a vacation package (for two) for $598 on 02/24/2000. (I received the advertisement for this vacation package through a fax machine in my office). I began researching the vacation package through the internet and found numerous complaints and lawsuits against this company. I also did not know when purchasing the trip that my attendance at a sales promotion during trip would be required. Based on this I do not want to initiate the travel which will result in additional costs of approximately $800. I just want to cancel and receive a refund if possible.
Damages TO-DATE are $598.00 pre-paid, which does not include following ADDITIONAL charges if trip is booked:
- "port fees" (non-existent) of an additional $199 per person - total $398.
- Air fare to Orlando from DFW (approximately an additional $200 per person - total $400)
- Hotel taxes (not included)approx $12 per day
- Cruise pre-paid staff tips of anywhere from $12 - $25 per traveler
Stephanie should send a certified letter demanding the immediate refund of her money. If it does not arrive iin 30 days, a Small Claims Court action is in order.
