Homeland Park Water

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I got a water bill for $82.00 in my first month of service from Homeland Park Water after paying $150.00 deposit. Deposit required upfront to have cut on in my single bedroom apartment. The bill was for 18 days of service.

I went outside to verify some things on the meter. I discovered that the meter they read, according to the bill, was actually cut off (obviously not my meter). And the meter must have been new because its reading was 0 gallons used. Not only did they read the wrong meter; they overcharged me 100% more than the meter they allegedly did read.

My water bill each month is anywhere from $75.00 to $100.00. No, I do not have an irrigation system, nor a water leak. I bought a front load washer to save on the water bill, which doesn't use but about 3 to 4 gallons of water. My older washing machine used about 20 gallons of water or more and I have had no reduction in my bill! Every time I call, Homeland Park Water will tell me, according to past history it is about right, or I may have a leak. I do not have any leaks! It should be against the law to charge consumers this price and there should be some sort of regulation! I still do not understand why my bill is so high? What can be done?

Homeland Park Water charges a 250.00 water deposit, compared to 100.00 in the other 3 water districts. Of this deposit, if you pay your bill and move, they only give you 100.00 of this back. I own rental property in the area, and because of this 250 deposit, that prices me and other landlords out of the market.

I recently had a death in my family, and i have my apartments vacant in the area, i wanted to simply have the water turned on from friday to tuesday, they said for 250.00, when i asked how much of the deposit i would recieve back she stated 100.00. So i responded to her i am just supposed to give you 150.00 for 5 days worth of water. The only response is she doesnt make the rules.
