I was invited to a session in San Jose, CA. What was advertised was $30.00 for make-up and hair styling with 1 8"x10" picture of my choice. One of the conditions was that I had to pay the $30.00 fee no later than a week in advance to hold a spot during the photo shoot. I also invited other family members and friends. I paid everything in advance, because I thought I was getting a bargain. When I was about to take my pictures, I was informed that I would not be getting a picture unless I obtained a photo package from Everlasting Memories. I was also informed that if any of the people that I had invited did not show up for the photo shoot, they would not be refunded the $30.00 that had been paid. I was handed a contract from Everlasting Memories seconds before the photographer took my pictures.
Unfortunately, my sister was unable to make the appointment and Mari ** and Celeste were very rude when my sister called me to tell me she would not be making the appointment. Both ladies informed me that they would not be returning any money. If I would have known that the contract stated what it did before hand, I would not have attended. But there was no contract shown until I was about to take my photos. The person that was hosting the photo shoot had to pay $30.00 to Everlasting Memories towards my package. In turn, I had to pay my sister her $30.00.
I do not think this is proper business practice and very poor customer service skills. The company asks for the money first and then bullies you by telling you that you either lose $30.00 and not take the picture or force you into getting the most economic photo package for that cheap price of $129.00. I don't see where the business ethic is.
